Sebastian Stan Finally Breaks Silence On Joining The Batman 2

Matt Reeves’ DC franchise will officially see the arrival of Sebastian Stan.

In a recent interview with Deadline, veteran Marvel actor Stan finally discussed joining The Batman – Part II, after news of his casting surfaced earlier this year. He described the sequel as “a challenge, like everything else,” but expressed excitement about its ambition. He particularly praised director Matt Reeves, a long-time favorite of his, and believes the film has the potential to be truly surprising and impressive if everything comes together as planned.

According to industry reports, Stan is likely to play Harvey Dent, the villain Two-Face, in the next Batman movie. However, Stan hasn’t officially confirmed the role yet. Filming for The Batman – Part II is scheduled to begin in June, and director Matt Reeves recently mentioned they are currently conducting tests for the film.

Scarlett Johansson, known for her role as Black Widow, is joining the cast of The Batman – Part II. Reports suggest she will play Gilda Dent, the wife of the character Harvey Dent in the comic books.

Just like the rumors about Stan playing Harvey, it’s still unconfirmed whether Johansson will play Gilda. But with Charles Dance cast as Harvey’s father, Christopher, it’s very probable that the Dent family will appear in the next installment.

We don’t yet know who the main villain will be in the next The Batman movie. Matt Reeves, DC Studios, and Warner Bros. Discovery are being very secretive about it. Barry Keoghan is expected to return as the Joker, but it’s uncertain how significant his part will be.

Following Matt Reeves’ release of test footage for The Batman – Part II on May 7th, many fans believe Mr. Freeze will be the next villain featured in the film. This speculation is largely due to the movie being set during winter.

Although director Matt Reeves has said the next Batman film will take place in winter, an actor to play Mr. Freeze (Victor Fries) hasn’t been chosen yet. As filming for The Batman – Part II begins, we’ll likely learn more – either through official announcements from DC Studios or from pictures and videos taken on the set.

The Batman – Part II is slated to open on October 1, 2027.
