As a die-hard fan of Gary Barlow, his latest revelations about his family have only deepened my admiration for him. The Take That star, with his 90M fortune and humble demeanor, is truly an inspiration. It’s heartwarming to see that his children, despite growing up in the limelight, have chosen their own paths – medicine, physiology, and academics over showbiz.

In a seldom-discussed discussion about his family, Gary Barlow has explained the reasons behind his kids’ decision not to tread the same path of fame as him.

Take That band member, aged 53, is a father to Daniel (24), Emily (22), and Daisy (15) with his wife Dawn Andrews, who they have been married for 25 years. Over the course of his career, he’s amassed an estimated £90 million fortune, according to reports.

He revealed to The Mirror that his children are so different to him and despite his own success, have shown no interest in showbiz, opting instead for academic careers.

In a nutshell: ‘Daniel and Emily, the eldest, seem to be focusing on medicine and physiology, specifically strength and conditioning. Daisy, our youngest, is still finding her path, but she’s quite scholarly… Unlike us and my wife, I should add.’ (He says)

I believe they won’t continue my musical path, yet if they had expressed interest, I wouldn’t have dissuaded them. In fact, it has turned out to be a profitable venture for me.

Each day, I continue to find joy in my work, and recognizing that it supports me financially only adds to that pleasure. There are numerous professions within the entertainment industry that are truly delightful, and I believe there’s a harsher world beyond the one I currently inhabit.

Gary is set to unveil his upcoming ITV travel program titled “Gary Barlow’s Wine Tour: South Africa.” During this adventure, he will be accompanied by well-known companions such as Jane McDonald and Ben Shephard.

In a particular sequence we visited, nestled almost invisibly between Steinbach and Franschhoek, stood an unassuming location. Remoteness couldn’t describe its location better; it felt like the world ended right there. Inside, there was a small cafe that served coffee and chicken pies. The place was so modest, yet it attracted quite the crowd – including myself. People inside even asked for photographs with me! It was an unexpected turn of events, but I found it exhilarating rather than bothersome!

In September, Gary posted a seldom-seen picture of his tall son Daniel, following his remarkable fitness milestone, in an overjoyed tribute.

Instantly, Gary’s tallest son, standing at six feet two, could be spotted clearly over his father of five feet seven, both gazing out towards the ocean.

The pair, a father and his son, held onto each other while looking off into the horizon during the family trip.

The sound of triumphant applause echoed not long after Gary had rejoiced over his son finishing the grueling Ironman race, an event that required swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles, and running a marathon of 26.2 miles.

He wrote: ‘We just couldn’t be prouder of our boy – unbelievable amounts of training and determination – when you put in the work you get the results.

‘Congratulations #ironman.’

Previously, the songwriter behind the smash hit “The Shine” expressed his pride when Emily opted to enroll at university in 2022, embarking on a four-year academic journey.

Originally, the teenager intended to pursue higher education in 2020, but her plans were disrupted due to COVID-19.

At that moment, Gary shared with Zoe Ball on her BBC radio program: “They are quite competent; one is attending university. The other is taking a break, initially planned for university but has chosen not to due to current circumstances, and I fully empathize with her decision.

At this point, our youngest child is eleven years old, making them more akin to young adults rather than children per se. However, they will forever remain children in our hearts.

In a sadder turn of events, Gary and Dawn suffered the loss of their daughter Daisy back in 2012 as she was born stillborn. More recently, Gary confessed that he hasn’t been able to find inner tranquility over this heartbreaking incident.

On The Imperfects podcast, Gary openly discussed his personal struggle regarding his family tragedy, admitting that he doesn’t delve deeply into the topic as he is still trying to make sense of it.

‘There was a stark contrast in my wife’s feelings compared to mine. I’ve harbored anger over this for quite some time now, and I haven’t fully reconciled or found tranquility regarding the issue.’
