Kasey Chambers recently disclosed her unconventional living setup with her significantly younger partner and musician, Brandon Dodd (age 29), only a week after receiving a prestigious lifetime achievement award.
On the previous Wednesday, the acclaimed songwriter who produced Not Pretty Enough turned 48, graciously accepted the highly esteemed award during the Australian Women in Music Awards of 2024.
Now, the Aussie musician is setting out to reside in a camper van for the remainder of this month.
On Monday, Kasey shared on Instagram that she was excited to get back on the road following a hectic week, what with promoting the launch of her new album Backbone and her book Just Don’t Be a Jerk.
She posted, “I had several trips recently due to my busy promotional tour for my new album or book, but now I’m overjoyed to be back in my mobile home for the remainder of this month.
The performer plans to reside in a recreational vehicle as she tours Australia to publicize her book, commencing a series of discussions on Tuesday, October 8 in Melbourne, followed by a trip to Geelong on the subsequent Wednesday.
She’ll deliver a speech in Canberra on Friday, October 11. A week after that, she’s scheduled to speak in Brunswick Heads, New South Wales. After that, she plans to visit the Gold Coast for the Groundwater Country Music Festival, followed by stops in Adelaide and Tailem Bend, South Australia.
Kasey posted, “Here we come! On our way from Melbourne to Geelong, Canberra, Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Tailem Bend, and finally here!
For quite some time now, Kasey and her significantly younger partner, Brandon (who’s 19 years junior), have been acquainted. Over the past nine years, the musician, who often shares the stage with Kasey, has honed his skills on the guitar.
Regarding their relationship, the singer mentioned in her memoir that she finds their 19-year age difference unimportant.
As a star-struck admirer, I must confess that despite my youthful spirit, Marlon Brando often seemed years beyond his time and mine, exuding a maturity that left me in awe most days.
‘He is significantly more old-fashioned than I am. In fact, he has chosen to part ways with a smartphone and opt for an older model, a flip phone, as he prefers not to be engrossed in digital screens for his daily life.’
She also believes the lovebirds are a ‘match made in heaven’ and started dating ‘six or seven years ago’.
She shared with The Australian that it’s evident, especially during our shared experiences, that this connection continues to serve as a strong foundation for our relationship.

Kasey has had experience living a chaotic life while traveling – in 2015, the well-known Australian country music artist found herself sharing a residence during Bluesfest in Byron Bay with several individuals, including her then-partner Harry Hookey and her former boyfriend Cori Hopper.
She shared on Instagram that our chaotic family vacation to Bluesfest turned out to be a big hit… A huge thank you goes out to my current boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, his girlfriend, her daughters, our son, and my little brother for making it an unforgettable trip… Spending five days in one apartment together and managing to get along was quite the feat! (sic)
Cori and Kasey dated for four years, before splitting in 2004.
After their separation, Kasey developed a romantic relationship with musician Shane Nicholson, whom she later married in the year 2005.
Previously, she was in a relationship with Harry Hookey; however, she found true love with Brandon, and they have been thriving together ever since.
