Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi team up for new movie

As a die-hard fan of both Emily Brontë’s timeless masterpiece and the captivating talents of Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, I couldn’t be more thrilled about their collaboration in the upcoming adaptation of “Wuthering Heights.” With Robbie’s exceptional acting prowess and Elordi’s rising stardom, this duo promises to breathe new life into one of literature’s most passionate tales.

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi have teamed up for a new movie.

The pair is scheduled to feature in Emerald Fennell’s forthcoming reinterpretation of Wuthering Heights. Notably, Robbie’s production entity, LuckyChap Entertainment, will take charge of the project, as reported by Deadline.

Emily Brontë’s timeless novel, originally published in 1847, unfolds a tale set amidst the windswept moors of West Yorkshire, where the complex bond between Catherine Earnshaw and her adopted brother, Heathcliff, serves as its main focus.

The book has been brought to life on both TV and cinema screens numerous times, with the latest being Andrea Arnold’s 2011 film. This production featured Kaya Scodelario from “The Gentlemen” and James Howson in its cast.

In the upcoming movie, Robbie has agreed to take on the role of Catherine, while Elordi is cast as Heathcliff. Fennell is responsible for writing, directing, and producing this film, with shooting scheduled to start in the UK next year. At present, specific storyline details have not been disclosed.

In collaboration for the third time, “Wuthering Heights” is a project by Fennel that involves LuckyChap Entertainment, a company jointly managed by Robbie, her husband Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara.

Previously, LuckyChap was responsible for the 2020 thriller “Promising Young Woman,” headlined by Carey Mulligan, as well as “Saltburn” from last year, notable for featuring Elordi and Barry Keoghan in its cast.

In the year 2021, Promising Young Woman received nominations for five Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, and several Critics Choice awards. On the other hand, Saltburn was recognized with nominations for two Golden Globes and five BAFTA awards.

After the blockbuster hit of Barbie the previous year, Robbie is set to be seen next in A Grand Adventure through Wide-open Spaces, sharing screen time with Colin Farrell, known for his role in The Batman.

The fantasy romance is depicted as a captivating story about two individuals who initially don’t know each other, embarking on an extraordinary emotional voyage that eventually unites them. This movie is set to be released in cinemas next year, specifically in May 2025.

Speaking of Elordi, he’s currently sharing the screen with Daisy Edgar-Jones in a fresh drama which debuted at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.

Based on Shannon Pufahl’s novel titled “On Swift Horses“, the story revolves around recently married couple Muriel (performed by Jodie Comer) and Lee (portrayed by Will Poulter), who has come back from the Korean War. Chris Elordi portrays Lee’s sibling, Julius.

Wuthering Heights doesn’t have a release date yet.
