Why was Ebonée Noel written out of FBI after Season 2?

As a seasoned gamer and TV show enthusiast, I find myself often immersed in the intricate narratives of various series, including the captivating world of FBI. The departure of Ebonée Noel’s character, Kristen Chazal, was indeed unexpected, to say the least.

On their journey, every TV series experiences departures among its cast members. The show FBI, like many others, has seen its fair share of these changes. However, some cast departures from the show have left fans scratching their heads more than others. One such perplexing exit was Ebonée Noel’s, which occurred after the Season 2 finale.

Ebonée Noel initially joined the team under the name Kristen Chazal when the series first started. Initially serving as an analyst, her ambition led her to pursue a role as a field agent, which she achieved in the second season. Despite encountering a life-threatening situation, she bravely overcame the trauma, and it seemed like she was planning to continue with the team.

Out of the blue, it was revealed in the third season that Noel’s character had departed. Jubal hinted that she had texted about moving to the Dallas Field Office. Viewers had been forewarned about Noel’s departure during the summer break, but the decision seemed strange and perplexing.

Ebonée Noel and FBI haven’t explained the exit decision

It appears that this choice for the series was a creative one. Previously, when cast members chose to depart from the show, the actors have shared their reasons with the public. Just like Kellan Lutz, Julian McMahon, and Luke Kleintank did with their decisions to exit the FBI series franchise.

Neither Noel nor the show remained silent regarding the choice to exclude Kristen from the storyline. It’s intriguing that this decision was made for creative purposes given Kristen’s significant character growth over a two-year period, but it might be the showrunner’s strategy to maintain viewer engagement by keeping things fresh and altering the dynamics of the series.

In other words, abrupt alterations in the acting lineup can seem insincere at times. If the show hadn’t depicted Kristen recovering from her close-call with death, it might have been different. This is an issue that many TV series encounter, and it isn’t exclusive to the FBI series; it’s a common challenge for Dick Wolf productions as they strive to maintain novelty between seasons.
