Get ready for some fantastic TV! This week brings a bunch of really great new shows you won’t want to miss.
Okay, so I’m super hyped because Netflix is dropping a really twisted psychological thriller this week – it’s all about a cult and a messed-up romance. Siobhan Finneran is in it, along with Asa Butterfield and Molly Windsor, and apparently it’s packed with dark secrets! But that’s not all – if you’re like me and obsessed with Stranger Things, they’re doing this new animated spinoff called Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 which is going to be a totally fresh way to experience the world of Hawkins. Seriously, Netflix is killing it right now!
The BBC is launching a new show from the creator of Baby Reindeer, Richard Gadd. And for those who enjoy crime dramas, a familiar detective series is also coming back.

Half Man
Richard Gadd, the creator of the hit series Baby Reindeer, is returning with a new show called Half Man. According to the BBC, this fictional series will deeply examine the complex relationship between two brothers, Ruben (played by Gadd) and Niall (played by Jamie Bell), focusing on themes of brotherhood, violence, and vulnerability.
Ruben and Niall become friends as children, despite not being related. Years later, Ruben unexpectedly appears at Niall’s wedding, and a violent outburst triggers a flashback. The story then jumps between the past and present, spanning three decades and revealing the troubled histories of these two men.
You can watch Half Man on BBC iPlayer from Friday, April 24th at 6am, and it will also air on BBC One later in the week.

Criminal Record, season 2
Peter Capaldi returns as DCI Daniel Hegarty, and Cush Jumbo is back as DS June Lenker. Together, the detectives face a challenging new case, teaming up reluctantly after an incident at a political rally takes a dangerous turn.
What to Read Next
As the investigation continues, the two detectives discover they’re dealing with an undercover operation. Hegarty and Lenker need to identify the far-right criminal before that person can carry out their plans.
Criminal Record season 2 is available from Wednesday 22 April on Apple TV.

Mint
Looking for a compelling drama? BBC’s new series, Mint, might be perfect. It’s a love story following Shannon (Emma Laird) and Arran (Ben Coyle-Larner), charting their relationship from the beginning. The show explores the challenges of love when you’re an outsider, and how it feels to fall in love while facing fear and judgment from the world around you.
The show also stars Sherwood‘s Lindsay Duncan and Breaking Bad and Patience actor Laura Fraser.
Mint is available to watch from Monday 20 April at 9pm on BBC One.

Unchosen
Netflix’s Unchosen boasts a fantastic cast, including Fra Fee (from Lost Boys and Fairies), Asa Butterfield (Sex Education), Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), and Siobhan Finneran (Happy Valley), making it a show you won’t want to skip.
Netflix describes the new six-part series as a suspenseful and unsettling psychological thriller filled with hidden truths. It centers on Rosie, played by Molly Windsor, and her experiences within a strict, fictional religious community.
Rosie, a loving mother and wife, suddenly finds her life turned upside down when she crosses paths with Sam, a man who has just escaped from prison.
Unchosen is available to watch from Tuesday 21 April on Netflix.

Stranger Things: Tales from ’85
Missing the adventures in Hawkins? Netflix has a new story for you! Called Tales from ’85, it’s a spin-off of Stranger Things that follows the familiar group of friends – now with new voice actors – during a cold winter in 1985.
So, me and my crew, we’re a bit of a ragtag bunch, and suddenly we’re thrown into this huge adventure battling monsters! It turns out there’s this weird, new paranormal thing happening, and we’re the ones who have to figure it out.
A new villain is causing trouble in town, and it’s up to them to stop it, just like always.
Stranger Things Tales from ’85 is available from Thursday 23 April on Netflix.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a beautiful, full-color 100-page tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
