After being announced in 2022, Margot Robbie’s prequel to Ocean’s Eleven finally has a release date. The film has faced some challenges, including two director changes over the past four years, but now has a well-known Hollywood star directing it.
During CinemaCon, Warner Bros. executives Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy announced the release date for a new, currently unnamed film: June 25, 2027.
Bradley Cooper, an Academy Award nominee, will direct the film. He previously directed last year’s short film, Is This Thing On?, which featured Will Arnett.

Cooper will also produce, alongside Robbie through her LuckyChap production company.
Lee Isaac Chung and the project’s team parted ways last month, agreeing to move forward separately due to differing visions for the work.

Warner Bros. and LuckyChap stated they were even more excited to work with [Chung] on future projects after their recent collaboration.
Originally, Warner Bros. wanted Jay Roach, the director of films like Meet the Parents and Austin Powers, to direct the project, but he departed last year.
During the Warner Bros. presentation, a video message from Robbie Williams played, where she hinted (according to The Hollywood Reporter) that Danny Ocean’s parents were the original masterminds behind his skills, teaching him everything he knows before he even arrived in Las Vegas.
Our new movie features these characters at their best, attempting a daring robbery during the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.
I’m really excited about the script for this movie – it’s being written by Carrie Solomon! She did a great job with A Family Affair last year, the one with Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron, so I have high hopes.

The Ocean’s movie series started in 2001 with Ocean’s Eleven, featuring Brad Pitt and George Clooney. This film was a fresh take on the 1960s movie Ocean’s 11, which originally starred Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
The first film was followed by another in 2004, and then Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007. More recently, in 2018, a spin-off featuring an all-female cast, Ocean’s 8, was released, starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Anne Hathaway.
During their CinemaCon presentation, Warner Bros. revealed release dates for several upcoming films, including The Revenge of La Llorona (April 9, 2027), Evil Dead Wrath (April 7, 2028), Final Destination 7 (May 12, 2028), Zach Cregger’s The Flood (August 11, 2028), a prequel to Weapons called Gladys (September 8, 2028), and a new, currently untitled film from Baz Luhrmann (November 22, 2028).
The as-yet-untitled film will hit cinemas on June 25, 2027.
