As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of crossovers that made perfect sense and some that left me scratching my head. The rumored collaboration between Fortnite and Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNaF) had been on my radar for quite some time. With the tease from FNaF creator Scott Cawthon, I couldn’t help but feel a glimmer of hope that this collab was finally happening.

For several years, there have been whispers about a possible partnership between Fortnite and Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNaF). Given that they share a similar fanbase, many speculated if or when this collaboration might materialize. However, the chatter grew more intense in recent months after creator Scott Cawthon hinted at an enormous team-up he would reveal on August 5th. Alas, August 5th passed without any confirmation, leaving fans of the Fortnite x FNaF crossover feeling let down.
It turns out that the creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s didn’t unveil the long-awaited partnership between FNaF and Fortnite as many had hoped. Instead, he encouraged fans to watch a specific account today for some news. While speculation has been rampant since then, it appears that Fortnite was not involved in this collaboration.
Instead, Dead by Daylight is planning to collaborate with Five Nights at Freddy’s in summer 2025. Given their shared horror settings, these two properties complement each other nicely. Despite being over a year away, the potential for this collaboration is vast and exciting.
Will Five Nights at Freddy’s ever come to Fortnite?
Though some fans were disheartened by the absence of a Fortnite x FNaF announcement, it’s intriguing to consider if this crossover might occur in the future. Epic Games has demonstrated an impressive capacity to collaborate with a wide range of intellectual properties (IPs), big and small, so the possibility remains open. The integration of elements like Stranger Things and the Marvel Cinematic Universe into Fortnite is well-known, and it’s no secret that FNaF enjoys widespread popularity among gamers.
Scott Cawthon, the creator, has openly expressed his willingness to collaborate only on games that are logical and coherent. He emphasized that just because he finds a game enjoyable doesn’t automatically mean it fits with his vision. While the possibility of a Fortnite and FNaF collaboration still lingers, there’s no guarantee it will materialize in the future.
