I’m really excited about this new board game called War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time! It’s officially licensed, which is awesome, and it’s made by Dire Wolf. I checked out their Kickstarter, and it’s already blown past $1 million – that’s huge! From what I’ve seen, it’s a big strategy game where you play through Rand’s entire war against the Dark One, starting with the Two Rivers and going all the way to the Last Battle. It looks super immersive!

John De Lancie famously played Q, who first appeared when Captain Picard and the crew of the Enterprise were traveling to Farpoint. Initially testing humanity by putting them in difficult situations, Q became fascinated with Picard and his team. He evolved from a threatening figure into more of a playful trickster, often challenging the crew and even helping them learn valuable lessons. A prime example of this was in the second season of The Next Generation, when Q orchestrated the Federation’s initial encounter with the Borg.

Finding a new actor to play Logan (Wolverine) for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming X-Men film will be very challenging. But if Marvel wants to avoid upsetting fans, they’ve already subtly introduced Jackman’s ideal successor within their existing timeline. Dafne Keen, who brilliantly played X-23 in the critically acclaimed Logan and recently reappeared in Deadpool & Wolverine, is a natural fit.

The Godfather famously introduced audiences to the Corleone family, a powerful mafia dynasty headed by Vito Corleone (played by Marlon Brando). The film explores the inner workings of this criminal organization and follows the transformation of Vito’s son, Michael (Al Pacino), from someone who wants no part in the family business to its cold and calculating leader. The Godfather set the standard for crime films and continues to influence shows like The Sopranos.

As of today, the streaming series The Hawk has a low Rotten Tomatoes score of 29%. While that’s an improvement from its initial score of 17%, critics haven’t been very impressed. However, viewers at home seem to enjoy the show much more, giving it an audience score of 65% on Rotten Tomatoes. Although that audience score isn’t exceptionally high, it shows that Netflix subscribers are more positive about Will Ferrell’s new comedy than professional reviewers.

The 2010s produced many beloved animated films that continue to resonate with audiences. How to Train Your Dragon was a major success for DreamWorks, taking the studio to new heights. Wreck-It Ralph proved Disney could create more than just princess stories and helped them compete with other animation studios. Inside Out is widely considered a Pixar masterpiece, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse revolutionized animation techniques.

Compelling lore goes beyond just creating a detailed history; it influences what characters believe and clarifies the roots of long-standing conflicts. These anime showcase their worlds through things like ancient ruins, religious practices, cultural differences, and new findings. Worldbuilding is central to these shows, offering histories that are engaging rather than overwhelming, and each revealed detail adds another layer of fascination.
