A new Dexter revival is on its way starring Michael C. Hall

As a seasoned gamer and binge-watcher of crime dramas, I can confidently say that the return of Dexter Morgan has left me both elated and perplexed. Growing up with the original series, witnessing Dexter’s complex character arc was like navigating through the darkest corners of a virtual city in a video game, only to find an unexpected twist at every corner.

In a fascinating turn of events, it appears that Dexter Morgan’s character will endure forever. Actor Michael C. Hall reprises his role as the beloved antihero, leaving fans intrigued about how this could happen. The suspense unfolds in an upcoming sequel series titled “Dexter: New Beginnings“.

As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share that I will once again step into the shoes of Dexter Morgan! This exciting news was dropped during SDCC. Additionally, I’ll be lending my voice for the inner-narration of my younger self in the prequel series, “Dexter: Original Sin.” While the thought of a prequel series is intriguing, the prospect of a sequel series had me raising an eyebrow initially. But then, who wouldn’t want to revisit the world of Dexter Morgan?

Didn’t Dexter die in New Blood?

Following the controversial ending of its original run, Dexter was given a chance to continue his story in a new series titled “Dexter: New Blood“. Here, we find the complex character of Dexter Morgan, a serial killer who adheres to a self-imposed moral code, no longer alone and seeking absolution.

Towards the finale of the show, Dexter’s own son turned out to be his killer. It seemed like an end to the character, as there was little chance he could have lived through that incident.

It appears as though the new series, “Dexter: Resurrection,” might alter the original ending by possibly allowing for the return of a character who could have been involved.

Could Dexter: Resurrection follow Harrison’s story?

Upon Hall’s return, it remains uncertain if his character will take center stage. At this point, details about the revival are scant, and it could be that Hall’s role is minor. Perhaps he’ll merely provide narration for the episodes, or serve as an inner voice for Harrison, guiding him through the story. Given the similarities between father and son, it seems plausible that Harrison would inherit his father’s voice, thereby becoming the central narrator.

An alternative scenario could be that Dexter reappears as a creation of Harrison’s mind, enabling Michael C. Hall to physically appear instead of just providing voiceovers. Since the specifics of this revival are yet to be revealed, it remains uncertain whether the ending of “New Blood” will be reversed or if Dexter’s return is in a spectral form.
