Even though Robert Jordan finished writing The Wheel of Time with the book A Memory of Light in 2013, it’s still a hugely popular series in the fantasy genre. The recent Amazon TV show, which lasted several seasons, introduced Rand al’Thor and other fan-favorite characters to many new viewers. Now, a brand new release related to The Wheel of Time is expected to reach an even wider readership.
I’m really excited about this new board game called War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time! It’s officially licensed, which is awesome, and it’s made by Dire Wolf. I checked out their Kickstarter, and it’s already blown past $1 million – that’s huge! From what I’ve seen, it’s a big strategy game where you play through Rand’s entire war against the Dark One, starting with the Two Rivers and going all the way to the Last Battle. It looks super immersive!
Several different sets are available, such as the Dragon Reborn, The One Power, and the Last Battle Bundle. These include new artwork and miniature figures of popular characters like Egwene, Perrin, Mat, Moiraine, Lan, Nynaeve, and others. As a big fan of The Wheel of Time, I think War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time looks fantastic.
