Tubi is gaining popularity, and it’s easy to see why. While most streaming services are becoming more expensive, Tubi remains completely free. Many viewers are happy to watch a few ads in exchange for not having to pay a monthly subscription.
Because Tubi is free, some people might expect lower quality content. While it’s true some movies and shows were made with very little money, that’s actually part of what makes Tubi fun. Plus, you can also find a lot of really great movies and TV shows on the service.
You can find classic movies like Goodfellas, Scream, Saving Private Ryan, The Fugitive, Memento, Superbad, and Legally Blonde on Tubi. They also offer acclaimed international films such as The Worst Person in the World and Memories of Murder. Plus, Tubi is now creating its own original content, and their newest project looks promising.
Tubi’s original film, Hive, is a standout horror movie. It boasts a clever premise, a strong lead performance, and genuinely scary moments. Horror fans won’t want to miss it.
Hive’s Concept Is Unsettling
The movie Hive begins with Sasha, a young woman hoping to earn money before college, getting a babysitting job in an affluent area. But her first day on the job quickly takes an unexpected turn.
Sasha brings a child to the playground and finds it full of kids, but surprisingly, no adults are supervising them. Inspired by the short film of the same name, Hive depicts the children acting as a collective, essentially taking control of the adults who should be in charge.
There’s a long-standing tradition of using children to create unease in horror movies. We’ve noticed this trend recently in films like Weapons and Bring Her Back, and the new movie Hive continues that pattern.
There Are Genuine Scares In Hive
The idea of a group of dangerous children acting as one is frightening, but what really makes the movie Hive effective is its skillful use of scares. One particularly chilling moment is when Sasha searches for other adults, and all the children suddenly stop what they’re doing.
The children contort themselves into incredibly awkward and unsettling positions – the kind of thing that makes viewers at home immediately say, “No way!” This disturbing imagery stays with you even after the movie ends, contributing to a truly memorable horror experience.
The movie also features some genuinely scary moments. Even though it wasn’t made with a large budget, Hive is resourceful and makes excellent use of what it had available.
Hive Is Led By Two Talented Actors
The movie Hive was made on a smaller budget, so it features up-and-coming actors instead of established stars, and the leads are perfect examples of this. Xochitl Gomez, who you might recognize from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (and as a Dancing with the Stars winner), plays the main character, Sasha, and she delivers a strong performance.
Aaron Dominguez plays Marco, her brother. You might recognize him from his role as Oscar Torres in the first season of the popular Hulu series Only Murders in the Building. Featuring strong performances and a genuinely creepy storyline, Hive is a film worth checking out on Tubi.
