Currently showing at the SWCAC museum in Shenzhen, Sruli Recht’s exhibition, “LAIR,” is the culmination of 15 years of work. The show creates a unique world where objects aren’t simply made, but seem to grow naturally, formed by the same powerful forces that shape our planet – like earthquakes and chemical changes.

The exhibition showcases 68 sculptures presented in 11 unique installations. Artist Recht works with unusual materials like lava, glass shaped by lightning, and even fur made from bees’ skin. These pieces are displayed as if they were ancient ceremonial objects, inviting viewers on an experience that mixes art and ritual.

LAIR was a collaborative project between Sruli Recht and ORENDA LTD. Mitch Carter Jafery crafted the story, Peiter Hegert handled the animation, and Jarred Eberhardt led the artistic vision. Aljoscha Bolte oversaw the project’s management, and Marinó Thorlacius was responsible for the exhibition’s overall look and feel.
