Rapper YG arrested on suspicion of DUI, hit a Burbank curb with his red Lambo, police say
As a longtime fan of YG’s music, I must say this news about his DUI arrest came as a bit of a shock. It seems like every time I turn around, there’s another headline involving my favorite rapper. Don’t get me wrong, I love his music and the energy he brings to the stage, but it feels like YG is always finding himself in some kind of trouble.
On Tuesday morning, the rapper YG was taken into custody for suspected DUI (driving under the influence), according to the police in Burbank.
As a supporter, I’d rephrase it like this: I’m talking about the rapper from Santa Monica, known as Keenon Jackson, who had an unexpected incident with his red Lamborghini. He ended up hitting a curb and stopping in a green patch beside the road, specifically near the crossroads of Olive Avenue and Keystone Street. The officers from Burbank Police Department discovered him there.
According to the police, it appeared that Jackson was under the influence of alcohol, leading to his arrest for suspected misdemeanor DUI. However, it remains uncertain if the DUI investigation involved a breathalyzer test, a field sobriety test, or a blood test.
No other vehicles or people were involved in the collision, and no one was injured, police said.
Jackson’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said the rapper would contest the allegations against him.
It’s clear as day, Tacopina stated to The Times, “YG appears to have a target on his back from some in law enforcement, and we plan to deal with this issue.
Jackson was booked into Burbank Jail and released by 2:30 p.m.
2022 saw the dismissal of a felony robbery case against the rapper known for “Who Do You Love?”, following his private settlement with a fan who claimed he stole a neck chain valued between $3,000 and $9,000 in 2018. According to Rolling Stone, this resolution was reportedly made outside of court.
In 2020, Jackson was apprehended due to alleged involvement in a robbery and deadly car shooting; however, no charges were brought against him in that instance.
