Nicole Kidman posts heart-wrenching tribute to her mum Janelle and rare family photos after her death age 84: ‘Our mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express’
As a dedicated follower of Nicole Kidman’s career, I find myself deeply moved by the heart-wrenching news of her mother’s passing. Having grown up watching Kidman grace our screens with her exceptional talent, it is humbling to know that behind those captivating performances lies a life as rich and complex as the roles she plays.
Nicole Kidman has broken her silence one week after announcing the death of her mother, Janelle.
On Saturday, the esteemed Australian actress, aged 57, disclosed that her cherished mother had passed away at 84 years old. Remarkably, this heartfelt news was shared mere hours before she received the Best Actress accolade for her exceptional performance in Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival.
This past Friday, Nicole and her sister, Antonia, paid an emotional tribute to their deceased mother on Instagram by posting a series of previously unshared images of their beloved matriarch.
In her post, the actress from The Perfect Couple graciously acknowledged and appreciated the sympathies and well-wishes from her countless fans and admirers as they navigated through a difficult period of mourning.
In a joint statement, Nicole expressed her gratitude on behalf of herself, her sister, and their entire family, for the abundance of affection and generosity they’ve experienced these past few days.
‘Each tribute and expression of affection sent towards our beloved Mother has touched us far deeper than words can convey. On behalf of our entire family, thank you for understanding and granting us space during these challenging times as we support one another.’
On Saturday, Nicole revealed that her beloved mother had sadly passed away at the age of 83.
The 57-year-old Australian actress had to depart from the Venice Film Festival early and head back to Sydney due to a tragic piece of news that required her presence with her family.
On the last day of the Venice Film Festival, Nicole received the Best Actress award, mere hours after her mother, Janelle, had passed away.
Today, I reached Venice, only to learn soon afterwards that my remarkable and courageous mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, had sadly passed away. This was shared by director Halina Reijn during my award acceptance speech.
I’m utterly stunned and must rush to my loved ones, yet this recognition belongs to her. She molded me, directed me, and brought me into being.
