LEGO’s New H.E.R.B.I.E. Robot Set Features Automatic Eye-Tracking and a Secret Stash

Summary

  • The 747-piece buildable figure stands over 9 inches tall and features highly articulated arm and finger joints
  • Integrated mechanical eyes rotate automatically in sync with the model’s head movements to mimic tape-recorder visuals
  • A concealed torso panel opens to store a brick-built drinking mug and screwdriver accessory within the robot’s frame

The LEGO Marvel H.E.R.B.I.E. is a detailed, brick-built model of the Fantastic Four’s robotic assistant. With 747 pieces, it’s designed to be both poseable for play and impressive as a display piece. It’s built to closely resemble H.E.R.B.I.E.’s appearance in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, focusing on how it moves and its overall structure.

This figure is built with special joints that let it move in lots of ways, despite being 9 inches tall. Its arms and fingers are very flexible, so it can hold the included tools, like a screwdriver and mug. A smart design also makes its eyes move automatically as you turn its head, giving it a realistic look and capturing the robot’s unique personality thanks to hidden LEGO gears.

As a huge fan, I was really impressed by how cleverly designed this model is! It’s not just about the cool outer joints – the torso actually opens up to store all the accessories, which is brilliant. And despite being packed with pieces, it’s a surprisingly manageable size – about 6 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. The designers really nailed the smooth curves and the overall look, making it super accurate to how it appears on screen with that awesome white and blue color scheme.

You can now pre-order the LEGO Fantastic Four H.E.R.B.I.E. set, and it will officially be released on August 1st from the LEGO Store.
