Engineered Garments and Converse’s Weapon Models Highlight Asymmetrical Construction

The Engineered Garments x Converse Weapon is releasing on May 1st. It will be available for $145 USD directly from Converse. Colorways include Vintage White/Yellow and Black/Vintage White/Black. The product codes (SKUs) are A19689C and A19690C.

Engineered Garments and Converse have teamed up to create a new version of the Weapon Low sneaker. The shoe focuses on high-quality materials and a practical design inspired by Engineered Garments’ designer, Daiki Suzuki. It comes in two low-top color options, each made with a unique combination of different materials.

This collection’s standout feature is Engineered Garments’ unique use of mismatched panels. At first glance, each pair of shoes looks symmetrical, but a closer look reveals that the left and right shoes aren’t exactly the same. They alternate between smooth leather and textured suede in a deliberate way, creating a subtle contrast across the toe, the iconic Chevron logo, and the heel. This creates a visually interesting effect that changes depending on how you look at them.

The shoe keeps its classic, sturdy build with a durable rubber sole that provides reliable traction and support for everyday wear. Inside, functional sockliners feature co-branding, while the outside has a simple, clean look. Subtle details like matching stitching, classic laces, and lightly padded collars keep the focus on the shoe’s unique combination of materials.
