It seems Iron Maiden might actually be open to being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, despite previous statements to the contrary. Lead singer Bruce Dickinson has often said the band wasn’t interested – and that’s putting it mildly.
Dickinson is right. Rock and roll is a vibrant, energetic, and rebellious art form – it doesn’t feel like something that belongs behind glass in a museum. Looking back in a century, relying on museum exhibits might give a misleading impression of rock’s history, potentially overlooking important, more aggressive subgenres like punk and thrash.
So, I just heard that Iron Maiden is getting inducted into the Hall of Fame in November, which is awesome! But get this – they’re not actually going to be there. Apparently, they’ve got a really good reason though, so it’s not like they’re snubbing anyone. It makes sense, honestly.
Iron Maiden won’t appear at the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony
Iron Maiden is touring Australia around November 14th, which means leaving the country – and possibly cancelling some concerts – is completely out of character for them.
The band has a strong history of creating fantastic music, and they recognize their success is thanks to their fans. Canceling scheduled concerts would be disappointing for those who have already bought tickets and made plans, especially in Australia where the weather is warming up. It would also feel arrogant for a band that has always prioritized performing for their audience.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is probably going to feature a variety of famous musicians performing Iron Maiden’s songs as a tribute to the band. This could be quite a show, although we don’t yet know which artists will be involved.
