How to Create Pop-Up Camps in Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds, there’s an adventurous vibe as you traverse various zones, and within these areas, you can set up temporary bases known as pop-up camps. At these locations, you can switch weapons, prepare meals, and even personalize them with various colors, materials, and facilities. However, establishing one requires meeting specific conditions, and be mindful of monsters while doing so. Here’s a guide on these cozy hideouts.
How To Unlock Pop-Up Camps
Before setting up your pop-up campsites in Monster Hunter Wilds, ensure you’ve first unlocked this feature by advancing through the game’s main storyline. Specifically, you must reach a stage where you battle your initial Congalala. Following this encounter, you can commence placing pop-up camps at specific spots on the map. Keep in mind that each area has a camp limit, which might increase upon completion of certain main story missions. Generally speaking, though, you should be able to set up at least two pop-up camps in every region.
Placing and Customizing Your Camp
To set up a temporary camp in Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll first need to discover an appropriate location. Often, these locations have flies buzzing nearby, and if you pass by one, a message will appear saying “You’ve discovered a camp site.” Once you receive this notification, simply retrace your steps and deploy your camp with the aid of your camping gear stored in your inventory.
However, it’s important to be mindful of a few factors. Firstly, there’s a limit to the number of camps you can establish at once. Secondly, be cautious about the threat level near your camp. Camps tend to change from dangerous to safe depending on the monsters in the vicinity. The higher the danger level, the greater the chance that monsters will approach and potentially destroy your camp.
After choosing a spot for your pop-up camp, you’re ready to personalize it. A friendly Palico is nearby who will help you adjust various aspects of your campsite. You can switch up the fabric and hue of your tent, as well as arrange outdoor furniture. Certain items also enable Alma and your Palico to engage with them in fun interactions. Additionally, as you advance through the main story or complete side quests, you’ll discover additional customization options to unlock.
In Monster Hunter World, although you can quickly return to any map location via fast travel, we advise setting up numerous temporary campsites. Some encounters within the game can be tough, and these camps act as safe spots where you can recuperate or gear up before embarking on your next adventure.
