After becoming one of 2025’s horror hits, Heart Eyes 2 is officially moving forward.
The first movie, directed by Josh Ruben (known for Werewolves Within), follows Ally McCabe, a marketing employee who becomes a target of a Valentine’s Day serial killer after being mistakenly thought of as Jay Simmonds’ girlfriend. Starring Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding, Heart Eyes received good reviews and earned over $33 million at the box office, more than doubling its $18 million production cost.
A little over a year after the original movie was released, Variety reports that Heart Eyes 2 now has a confirmed release date. The horror sequel will be distributed by Paramount Pictures—a change from the first film, which was released by Sony Pictures—and is scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 11, 2028. Josh Ruben is returning to direct and co-write the script with Darcy Fowler, building on a story idea from the original writers, Christopher Landon and Michael Kennedy, who also created Freaky.
