With April coming to an end, Disney+ has shared its schedule of new releases for May 2026.

Next month will bring the premiere of The Punisher: One Last Kill, featuring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. May will also include the season finales of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 and Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord.

Coming to Disney+

On Friday, May 1st, the fourth season of the Hulu Original series “El Encargado” premieres. Okay, so I just started watching Perfect Crown on Hulu, and it’s seriously good! It’s set in modern-day Korea where they still have a royal family, but it’s a constitutional monarchy. Basically, this super-rich heiress feels like she’s missing something, and she ends up getting into a contract marriage with a prince who doesn’t have much except his title. It’s a total forbidden romance thing, and they’re trying to change their fates together. Definitely hooked!

On Saturday, May 2nd, a new episode of the Hulu Original series, Perfect Crown, will be available. Set in modern-day Korea, which is ruled by a constitutional monarchy, the show follows a wealthy heiress who lacks social standing and a lonely prince who has only his royal title. They enter a contract marriage and unexpectedly fall in love, challenging societal norms and trying to change their fates.

Okay, so tonight’s May the 4th, and I’m hyped because ‘American Idol’ is on! It’s seriously a classic show that changed TV, and this season has some amazing judges – Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. Ryan Seacrest is, of course, hosting. It airs live on ABC at 8pm Eastern, and if you miss it, you can catch it the next day on Disney+ and Hulu. But cool news – starting March 30th, you can actually stream it live on Disney+ at the same time it’s on TV, which is awesome for those of us who don’t always have access to a TV!

The season finale of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord premieres Monday, April 6th on Disney+. This story picks up after The Clone Wars and follows Maul as he tries to rebuild his criminal organization on a planet the Empire hasn’t reached. He encounters a discouraged Jedi Padawan who might become his apprentice and help him achieve his goal of revenge.

On Tuesday, May 5th, the season finale of Daredevil: Born Again streams on Disney+ at 6pm PT. This season, Mayor Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin, is tightening his grip on New York City while relentlessly pursuing Daredevil. Matt Murdock, behind the mask, will fight to dismantle the Kingpin’s corrupt system and restore hope to his city. The season’s theme is to resist, rebel, and rebuild.

On May 6th, a new episode of the Hulu Original series, Gold Land, will be available. Okay, so on Friday, May 8th, the super cute chibi shorts of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir Season 1 dropped! Honestly, it’s all about Marinette and Cat Noir, and let me tell you, their love life is a total mess – things never go smoothly for those two!

I’m so excited! There are new episodes of Playdate with Winnie the Pooh: Shorts! It’s Season 3, and it’s all about Winnie the Pooh and his friends having fun playdates together up in their Treehouse. It looks adorable!

On Monday, May 11th, a new episode of American Idol (Season 9) will stream live on ABC at 8pm Eastern Time. This popular singing competition, known for launching music careers, features judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. Ryan Seacrest returns as host and producer. You can watch American Idol live on ABC Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET, and it will also be available to stream next day on Disney+ and Hulu. Starting March 30th, you can even stream it live on Disney+ alongside the ABC broadcast in your local time zone.

On May 12th, a new season of Tucci in Italy premieres on National Geographic. It’s a really intense story about greed and just trying to survive, and I’m totally hooked!

“Hey A.J.!” is a fun, musical comedy for families. Created by author and athlete Martellus Bennett, the show follows a creative young girl and her stuffed bunny as they turn everyday experiences into amazing adventures using their imaginations.

Okay, so I just saw that a new episode of Perfect Crown dropped on Hulu today, May 16th. It’s a really interesting show! Basically, it’s set in modern Korea, but they have a royal family. They end up in a marriage of convenience, and naturally, things get complicated – and romantic! It’s all about them trying to break the rules and make their own futures, which sounds pretty cool.
