Euphoria star breaks silence on feud rumors between Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya

An actress from the show Euphoria has shared her perspective on the alleged friction between Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya.

The popular HBO show premiered its third season in early April. Although critics weren’t very impressed with the return after a four-year break, the focus quickly turned to rumors of conflict between the show’s main actors.

For years, rumors have swirled about a disagreement between actresses Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya. These rumors started with online speculation that Sweeney had a romantic interest in Zendaya’s boyfriend, Tom Holland. They were also worsened by criticism of Sweeney’s political opinions, leading to her being labeled with the nickname ‘MAGA Barbie’ online.

When the third season premiered, social media users noticed the two seemed to be avoiding each other on the red carpet, which quickly fueled more gossip and speculation.

In November, sources even told The Daily Mail that Zendaya was ‘refusing to stand next to Sweeney.’

Jessica Blair Herman, who plays a neighbor to the characters played by Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi in the show, stated on Monday that, based on her time on set, everyone worked well together.

‘They really did,’ she told Good Day New York. ‘And I’m not just saying that.’

Herman emphasized that everything was going smoothly, explaining that a positive and collaborative working environment had developed, and everyone was eager to contribute.

She went on to defend both Zendaya and Sweeney, noting that the pair rarely share scenes together.

She added that, from her experience, the actors weren’t filming together much. Their characters had very different storylines and were usually filmed on separate days.

The interview with Herman follows increased rumors earlier this year. These started when actress Sweeney wasn’t in the season’s official cast photo, and a source later said she was busy filming a scene when the photo was taken.

A clip from the season three premiere gained attention online, showing Zendaya having a friendly conversation with Hunter Schafer and appearing to not interact much with Sydney Sweeney.

Following the initial release, more video clips appeared online, and many viewers thought they showed the two people intentionally staying away from each other.

One fan said Zendaya quickly arrived and left in her car, and another responded that it proved she was serious about avoiding interviews with Sydney Sweeney.

One user pointed out in a comment that Zendaya greeted and hugged Hunter. They also noted that Sydney was watching Hunter, but quickly looked away when Zendaya turned her attention towards her.

As a huge fan, I’ve been following all the drama, and it’s crazy how quickly things blew up! Someone posted a clip that looks like Zendaya wasn’t really acknowledging Sydney Sweeney, and the internet immediately started speculating about what that means. It’s all anyone’s talking about!

Rumors of problems behind the scenes have circulated for a while, including reports that Tom Holland was involved in some flirtatious behavior.

Sweeney’s political views, combined with reactions to her public image and advertising work, have fueled disagreements online.

Last January, she resisted being categorized politically, stating that she’d been wrongly made into a figurehead in a larger cultural conflict.

She explained that she never intended to become a public figure in political discussions, and she’s frustrated by how others are defining her.

She explained that she wasn’t interested in discussing politics, stating that she came to create art and didn’t want to be involved in political conversations.

She believes that situation has led people to try and manipulate her for their own purposes.

Honestly, it just breaks my heart to see people misunderstand him! He was saying it’s SO hard to fix things once everyone’s already made up their minds. It’s like, no matter what he does or says, some people will always see him a certain way, and he feels like there’s just no way to change that. It’s just… frustrating, you know? Like he’s fighting a losing battle.

I’m still trying to understand things, and I definitely don’t want to be seen as unkind. But whenever I disagree with someone, they immediately accuse me of having ulterior motives, like I’m just trying to appear virtuous. It’s impossible to have a productive conversation – I can’t seem to win, no matter what I say.

She explained that she needs to stay true to herself, knowing her own values and accepting that she can’t please everyone. She’s confident in what she believes in.

Zendaya has previously expressed her opposition to Donald Trump, notably sharing a 2020 Instagram post urging people to vote, with a strong caption calling for his removal from office.
