Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Malcolm in the Middle, and the new four-part event, Life’s Still Unfair, definitely delivers. It’s great to see Malcolm and his family back on screen, with both familiar and new cast members. One thing hasn’t changed, though: life remains unfair for Malcolm.
I’m so excited! ComicsBeat just showed off a preview of The Art of Star Trek & Defiant, and it looks incredible. It’s a huge art book – featuring work from over 65 artists! – and it’s coming out in hardcover on June 16, 2026. According to IDW, it’s going to be a really deep dive into the art of Star Trek, showing off everything from the covers and concept designs to the art inside the comics themselves. They’re even including interviews with some of the artists, where they talk about their work and what makes Star Trek so special to them. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
Richard D’Ovidio’s “Preschool” is a simple, straightforward comedy. It features two men acting childishly and competing with each other, while their wives, who are more sensible and mature, put up with it and become friends. This dynamic of ‘silly men and patient wives’ isn’t groundbreaking, but the film offers enough laughs and genuine moments to make its flaws easy to forgive.

We’re talking Lena Headey – yes, Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones! – plus James Lance, who I loved in Ted Lasso, and Andrew McCarthy, a total ’80s icon from St. Elmo’s Fire. They’re all coming on as guest stars, which is seriously exciting for this already amazing show. I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!
Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming crime thriller, Legends, which premieres on May 7th. The series centers around Don (Coogan), who leads a secret operation to go undercover in the drug world. Instead of using professional spies, he assembles an unlikely team of regular customs agents. These agents are given new identities and a risky mission, and they must maintain their cover or face the consequences. Legends blends intense spy action with humor, and is expected to be a popular addition to Netflix’s lineup.
Wednesday is a comedy-mystery show created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. It follows Wednesday Addams, a character originally created by Charles Addams for The Addams Family. The show’s first season came out in 2022, followed by a second season last year. Netflix has renewed Wednesday for a third season, scheduled to premiere in July 2025.
Spider-Noir is a new live-action film that brings to life the gritty, 1930s version of Spider-Man first introduced in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Unlike the familiar, upbeat Peter Parker, this story focuses on Ben Reilly, a detective who fights crime using spider-like powers in a dark and stylish world inspired by classic film noir. He’s a hardboiled investigator, complete with a trench coat, battling corruption in a grim, stylized New York.
