But his new life is shattered when he witnesses a terrifying creature attacking one of his friends, who is soon reported dead.

Sam and their team work together to uncover the truth behind their friend’s disappearance, the identity of the monster, and why it’s attacking people in the Boroughs. Their investigation reveals a shocking secret about the town’s history and the involvement of Blaine Shaw (Seth Numrich), the CEO. Ultimately, The Boroughs feels like a more mature version of Stranger Things, following adults as they investigate a monster, which makes it both engaging and easy to connect with.

Set in a close-knit retirement town, the show creates a tense and mysterious atmosphere. It successfully blends dramatic moments with humor. While the main characters in The Boroughs are retirees, their struggles with grief, loneliness, and illness are universal, making the show relatable to viewers of all ages.
