It’s great to have new music from Beth Orton! Like many artists who blend folk and electronic sounds, she takes her time between albums, but the wait is always rewarding for her fans.
Her latest album, Weather Alive, came out in 2022 to great reviews. She’s now preparing to release a new album called The Ground Above, and has already shared two songs from it. The first, the title track, was released in March, and she recently followed it up with a song called “Waiting.”
The album comes out on June 26th through Partisan Records, and the artist will be touring to support it. The tour starts in North America in mid-September, followed by a brief UK leg in mid-October.
Beth Orton announces new album and tour
According to Orton’s website, the album will be divided into two distinct parts. The first half will have a more experimental, broken-up feel, while the second half will focus on richer, more flowing melodies.
