This hit star-studded ’80s-set drama is back, plus 6 other shows on ITV, Netflix and more this week

TV viewers are in for a double dose of David Tennant this week! Both the second season of his thrilling ’80s drama, Rivals, and the final season of the beloved fantasy series Good Omens are premiering, offering plenty for fans to enjoy.

Okay, so this week’s TV lineup looks pretty good – there’s a bit of everything, like some intense drama, funny comedies, and even a little romance. I’m definitely not trying to miss anything good, so I’m checking out what’s on. You should too!

Believe Me

This four-episode series features Aimée-Ffion Edwards (known from Peaky Blinders and Slow Horses), Aasiya Shah (Call the Midwife), and Daniel Mays (Line of Duty). ITV describes it as a chilling true crime story based on the case of the ‘black cab rapist’.

This story, penned by Jeff Pope, will focus on the experiences of the victims, who felt their concerns were dismissed.

The drama portrays the difficult experience many women face after reporting a rape, including repeated, invasive interviews and questioning from law enforcement that can feel dismissive.

Believe Me is available to watch from Sunday 10 May at 8pm on ITV.

What to Read Next

Rivals

Tony Baddingham, played by David Tennant, returns, and after the shocking events of the first season finale, he’s clearly seeking revenge. The second season will see the competition between Corinium and Venturer for the Central South West television franchise intensify, becoming increasingly risky and unpredictable.

Tony is determined to systematically destroy his competition, and as he does, the private lives of those in Rutshire will be thrown into chaos, with marriages failing, affairs being exposed, and long-held secrets revealed.

Expect shifting alliances and painful betrayals as everyone fights to win. And the 1980s setting? It looks absolutely amazing, based on the preview.

Rivals season 2 is available from Friday 15 May on Disney+.

Good Omens

As promised, here’s another appearance by David Tennant! His much-anticipated show, Rivals, is releasing its third and final episode.

According to the show’s description, Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant) are starting their biggest and most meaningful journey yet. This raises the question: can their friendship last, especially now that Aziraphale intends to go back to Heaven without Crowley?

Now in charge of overseeing the Second Coming, the recently promoted Supreme Archangel Aziraphale has a lot on his mind, and it’s not just about his relationship with Crowley.

It seems Crowley is going through a really tough time right now, but his story isn’t over yet. We’ll be seeing a new actor, Bilal Hasna (who you might recognize from Half Man), join the cast, and Toby Jones will be making a brief appearance as well.

Good Omens season 3 is available to watch from Wednesday 13 May on Prime Video.

Off Campus

Okay, so everyone’s been talking about what show would be the next big thing after The Summer I Turned Pretty, and it looks like Off Campus is stepping up to fill that spot. I’m definitely checking it out!

Inspired by Elle Kennedy’s popular book series, the show takes place in college and centers on the romance between Garrett (Belmont Cameli), a star hockey player at Briar University, and Hannah (Ella Bright), a talented but reserved songwriter.

The show also brings to mind To All The Boys I’ve Loved, with the fake relationship between the two leads blossoming into real feelings as the story unfolds. However, their budding romance faces challenges, both on and off the ice, leaving everything uncertain.

Off Campus is available to watch from Wednesday 13 May on Prime Video.

Nemesis

Okay, so the person who made the Power universe, Courtney A. Kemp, has a new show called Nemesis, and everyone’s saying it’s going to be just as intense and action-packed as Power was. I’m already hyped!

The series centers on a clash between police detective Isaiah Stiles, played by Matthew Law, and Coltrane Wilder, a businessman with a criminal side, portrayed by Y’lan Noel. The detective is relentlessly focused on bringing Wilder to justice.

Netflix is giving viewers a fresh take on the heist story with Nemesis. Expect intense, high-stakes action and a look at the motivations – and downfalls – of those involved.

Nemesis is available to watch from Thursday 14 May on Netflix.

The Punisher: One Last Kill

This one-hour TV special is designed to give fans of Daredevil: Born Again – particularly those who missed seeing Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in season two – something to enjoy.

So, I’m super hyped because Jon Bernthal is coming back as the Punisher in this special! It’s called One Last Kill, and it sounds like Frank is actually trying to find something beyond just getting revenge. But, of course, things never go smoothly, and something’s gonna drag him right back into the chaos. Sounds like classic Punisher to me!

The Punisher: One Last Kill is available to watch from Wednesday 13 May on Disney +.

The Wonderfools

Not everyone can be a superhero, and that’s perfectly illustrated by the Wonderfools – a mismatched group of ordinary people who unexpectedly develop superpowers in 1999.

This Korean series follows a quirky team of heroes as they fight villains terrorizing the city of Haeseong. It stars Cha Eun-woo (from True Beauty) as Lee Woon-jung, a public servant investigating a string of strange disappearances, and Park Eun-bin (from Extraordinary Attorney Woo) as Eun Chae-ni, who develops superpowers after a surprising event.

The Wonderfools is available to watch from Friday 15 May on Netflix.

The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! This special 100-page, full-color magazine celebrates the incredible Sir David Attenborough. You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
