Damian Lewis, known for his role in Wolf Hall, is joining the cast of the upcoming thriller The Return of Stanley Atwell. The film centers around Stanley Atwell (played by Nicholas Galitzine from The Sheep Detectives), who unexpectedly returns home after being believed dead, sparking a fight over his inheritance.
Joining the cast is Ella Purnell, known from Sweetpea, and Lewis will play Barnaby Towan. They’ll be acting alongside Jess Alexander (Amadeus), Adrian Rawlins (Slow Horses), and Will Keen (His Dark Materials).

The story, The Return of Stanley Atwell, centers on Stanley’s surprising reappearance at his family home after being held captive for ten years under unknown circumstances.
The unexpected return of Atwell throws everything into turmoil. His sister, Beatrice, is battling to get her hands on his inheritance, while his friend, Pamela Purnell, is secretly pulling the strings of his comeback and exploiting a hidden family secret – all in an attempt to gain control of the Atwell family wealth.
