Don’t miss your chance to watch the British thriller Jackdaw, starring Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (from The Haunting of Hill House). The 2023 film will be removed from Netflix on May 26th.
The film Jackdaw takes place over one night in Hartlepool and centers on Jack (Jackson-Cohen), a former motocross racer and army veteran. Facing financial difficulties, he agrees to help an old friend—now involved in crime—in order to provide for his family.
After being betrayed, Jack’s brother is kidnapped, forcing him to travel across Tees Valley to find out what happened.
I was really excited to see some familiar faces in Jackdaw! Thomas Turgoose, who I loved in This is England, is in it, along with Rory McCann from Game of Thrones and Joe Blakemore who was great in The Third Day. Vivienne Acheampong and Leon Harrop are in it too. The whole thing was written and directed by Jamie Childs – he did some awesome work on The Sandman on Netflix, so I had high hopes!
This movie was the second time Coleman and Jackson-Cohen worked together in 2023, following their appearance as co-stars in the Prime Video series, Wilderness.
