Brawl Stars Shelly Guide – Best Setup, Gadgets, Gears, & More

This guide will help you understand Shelly in Brawl Stars. We’ll cover her attacks, stats, and abilities to help you build the best strategy. Shelly is the first Brawler most players unlock, so this guide is perfect for beginners learning how to play. Let’s dive in and take a closer look at Shelly!

Brawl Stars Shelly Guide – How To Unlock

When you start playing Brawl Stars, you automatically get Shelly. You even use her during the initial tutorial to learn the basics before jumping into different game modes.

Brawl Stars Shelly Guide – Attacks, & Stats Per Level

Shelly’s primary attack, Buckshot, fires a spread of pellets over a wide area. Each pellet doesn’t do much damage on its own, but at close range, the attack can deal significant damage. Even at longer distances, the pellets can interrupt enemies trying to heal, giving Shelly time to prepare her Super.

Shelly’s Super, called Super Shell, is a stronger version of her regular attack. It breaks walls, pushes enemies back, goes right through targets, and does a lot more damage. It’s a really powerful attack that lets Shelly take down even tough opponents if she can get close to them.

Here’s a look at Shelly’s current stats (as of May 2026). Please keep in mind that these stats are subject to change and may not be completely up-to-date.

POWER LEVEL Health Main Attack Damage (Per Shell) Super Damage (Per Shell)
1 3900 300 320
2 4290 330 352
3 4680 360 384
4 5070 390 416
5 5460 420 448
6 5850 450 480
7 6240 480 512

Brawl Stars Shelly Guide – Which Star Powers & Gadgets are the best?

Overall, Shelly has two gadgets:

  • Fast Forward – “Shelly dashes to an aimed direction or forwards, fully reloading her ammo!”
  • Clay Pigeons – “Shelly focuses her fire to a smaller area with an increased range. Can be used 3 times per activation.”

Additionally, Shelly has two Star Powers:

  • Shellshock – “Shelly’s Super shells slow down enemies for 2 sec!”
  • Band-Aid – “When Shelly falls below 40% health, she instantly heals a portion of her health.”

Furthermore, Shelly can use the following gears in battle:

  • Speed
  • Vision
  • Health
  • Shield
  • Damage
  • Gadget Cooldown

Finally, Shelly’s Hypercharge, called Double Barrel, makes her Super fire more pellets in a wider spread.

Brawl Stars Damian Guide – Recommended Star Power, Gadget, & Gear Setup

When it comes to Gadgets, we recommend Clay Pigeons. They make Shelly a stronger pick in various game modes, including Bounty, Knockout, and Wipeout. Fast Forward is also a good option, particularly for quickly catching enemies with low health in Showdown. However, Clay Pigeons’ greater range and potential for damage make it the overall better choice.

Both Star Powers are effective, but we recommend Band-Aid for Shelly. She excels at close range, and the ability to heal frequently helps her survive more fights. While Shellshock’s slowing effect is useful, Clay Pigeons don’t always require you to stop enemies from escaping.

Okay, so when I’m playing Gears with Shelly, I usually go for a Shield and Damage build. I need her to be super tanky and able to take a beating, and that extra damage can save my skin when things get close. But if I’m on a map with tons of bushes, I’ll swap to a Speed build instead. It helps me move around quickly and control more of the map, which is a game-changer in those situations.

Brawl Stars – Which Modes Should You Use Shelly In (And Which Modes You Shouldn’t)

Brawl Ball

Shelly is a strong player in Brawl Ball. Her Super ability is particularly useful – it can destroy walls to create more opportunities to score, and knock the ball away from opponents. She can also use Clay Pigeons to eliminate enemies from a distance. Plus, Band-Aid helps her stay in the fight while she pushes the ball towards the goal.

Showdown

Shelly is a great Brawler for any Showdown mode. She’s fast, has a strong Super, and can quickly destroy Power Cube boxes – even taking out several with a single Super blast. In fights, her Clay Pigeons and Band-Aid offer effective strategies for both distant and close-up battles.

Heist

Shelly might not break through defenses directly, but she’s still a good choice for Heist because of her fast, consistent damage. Her Super ability can both hurt the safe and knock back opponents. Plus, Band-Aid lets her recover health while she’s attacking the safe. Don’t forget to use Clay Pigeons to hit the safe or enemies from a distance!

Hot Zone

Shelly excels at protecting the Hot Zone with her regular attacks, and her Super ability can force enemies to retreat. She can also use her Clay Pigeons to deal with enemies approaching the Zone, or those trying to prevent you from entering.

Brawl Stars Shelly Guide – What Modes Should I NOT Use Shelly In?

Bounty/Knockout/Wipeout

Okay, so as a Shelly main, I’ve gotta be honest – she really struggles in those three quick-play modes. Clay Pigeons gives her a little boost, but it doesn’t last long enough to actually make her a serious contender. Unless the map is covered in bushes where she can hide, she just gets focused down too easily. She sticks out way too much!

Overall, that wraps up our Brawl Stars Shelly Guide!
