The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is proving to be out of this world.
The follow-up to the 2023 hit, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, sends Mario (voiced by Chris Pratt) and Luigi (voiced by Charlie Day) on a new mission to space. They must rescue Princess Rosalina (voiced by Brie Larson) after she’s been taken by Bowser Jr. (voiced by Benny Safdie).
As a huge movie fan, I’m not surprised to hear from Variety that the new Super Mario movie is practically guaranteed to hit the $1 billion mark worldwide – they’re predicting it’ll be the first film of 2026 to do so! This past weekend, it took in another $12.1 million, putting it in third place behind the new Michael biopic and the long-awaited The Devil Wears Prada 2. Overall, the animated adventure has already earned over $900 million globally, which is just incredible!
