The neo-Western thriller Eddington, featuring Pedro Pascal, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Austin Butler, is now available to stream in the UK.
You can now watch the new film from the director of Midsommar and Beau is Afraid with a NOW Cinema subscription, or as part of a Sky Cinema package.
The story begins with the arrival of the COVID pandemic in a close-knit American town, and quickly, disagreements over how to handle it start to create conflict.

Trouble begins to brew in town as a popular online streamer gains a devoted following. Meanwhile, the sheriff and mayor are locked in a fierce rivalry, each determined to come out on top.
While not as strange or darkly funny as some of the director’s earlier films, this movie still feels unsettling, which likely explains its 69% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 285 reviews.

The Irish Times called Eddington “a fascinating, ambitious experiment,” but also pointed out that its 149-minute runtime felt excessive and didn’t fully earn its length.
According to a review in the Wall Street Journal, the story starts strong with clever social commentary, though it becomes more chaotic later on. However, this shift in style actually adds energy and prevents the narrative from losing focus.

Empire Magazine praised the film, describing it as a bold and hilariously over-the-top reflection of our current moment and how we arrived at it. They compared it to a cinematic form of group therapy, suggesting it’s a wild, cathartic release of pent-up feelings.
A critic for RogerEbert.com explained that the film isn’t simply a product of the division seen in 2020, but intentionally aims to create conflict, even succeeding if viewers strongly dislike it.
Critics had mixed reactions to the film: IndieWire praised it as both dark and exceptional, the BBC found it ambitious but too crowded, and director John Waters declared it his favorite film of the year.
Eddington is available to stream with a Sky/NOW Cinema subscription.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-colour 100-page tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
