Emily Atack showed off her impressive weight loss and gave fans a glimpse into her hectic life in a recent Instagram post.
The 36-year-old actress and comedian looked striking in a black, oversized blazer and matching trousers, worn over a delicate lace bra.
She spent the last few days relaxing and treating herself, including getting a pedicure.
Emily enjoyed the sunshine and put on a green and pink striped dress to meet up with her friends in the countryside.
The blonde woman looked relaxed in the photos, wearing a brown long-sleeved shirt and pants.
She shared a post with a caption saying she needed to rest after a busy couple of days.
The actress and her family – partner Alistair Garner and their 22-month-old son, Barney – have left London for a more peaceful life in a charming village. It’s located just fifteen minutes from where her mother, Kate, grew up.
According to a source, she’s recently moved back to live near her mother, just 15 minutes away in a nearby village. She hadn’t lived so close to her family in 20 years.
She’s changed because of the man she loves, and he’s helped her believe in herself.
Her role in Rivals has been her biggest career achievement yet, and now she’s finally living the life she’s always dreamed of.
This happened after Emily faced accusations of using weight loss injections to quickly change her appearance.
The actress sparked mixed reactions from her Instagram followers when she posted a photo wearing a stylish black minidress from Agent Provocateur.
‘Skinny jabs are jabbing,’ wrote one follower, while another asked, ‘on the jabs? Looks good tho’.
Someone else defended Emily, asking, ‘Why are we still focusing on women’s bodies?’
Someone else pointed out that it’s impossible for women to please everyone when it comes to their bodies – they’re either criticized for being too big or too thin. While they were grateful for the positive comment about her appearance, they emphasized that a woman’s size shouldn’t be a topic of public discussion, and simply stated she looks beautiful.
Shortly after having her son, Atack shared that she received many questions about her weight, but she didn’t feel pressured to quickly return to exercising.
In a November 2024 interview on Jamie Laing’s Great Company podcast, she shared that having a baby can be incredibly freeing. She explained that pregnancy dramatically changes your perspective on your body, making you see it in a completely new way after experiencing so much physical change.
It’s strange to experience the huge physical and emotional changes of pregnancy – creating and giving birth to a child is incredible! – and then immediately face pressure to quickly regain your pre-pregnancy body and get back to exercising.
She responded, clearly overwhelmed, “Are you serious? I just went through labor and delivered a baby! It was incredibly exhausting, physically and emotionally.”
Going to the gym is the last thing on my list, but everyone expects you to get fit again after some time off.
It’s strange that people don’t celebrate becoming a mother and instead focus on losing the baby weight. I’m not currently going to the gym, and I’ve actually gained a little weight since the birth, but I’m happy just enjoying this time with my baby.
Atack shared that she’s always felt comfortable with her body, but she was surprised by the negative comments about her appearance after becoming famous for playing Charlotte Hinchcliffe in The Inbetweeners.
She explained that people began focusing on her weight, and someone even created a Facebook page about her – Charlotte Hinchcliffe – dedicated to making hurtful comments about it. She was shocked by how cruel it was.
I remember people trying to look on the bright side, saying things like, ‘Well, at least we’re finally seeing women with more realistic bodies – curvier girls – taking on those glamorous roles on TV.’ It was so strange, because honestly, I didn’t even think of myself as curvy back then!
I was a size eight, which was a normal size for me, but it surprised some people. They were accustomed to seeing extremely thin actresses cast in glamorous roles, and I didn’t fit that mold.
