Beverley Callard insists ‘everyone got on’ following I’m A Celeb’s tense finale that descended into chaos as Adam Thomas was crowned winner

As someone who follows these reality shows closely, let me tell you, things weren’t as frosty as they seemed on ‘I’m A Celebrity South Africa’! Despite those tense moments we saw during the finale on Friday, the whole cast actually got along really well – it took just a few hours after reuniting for everyone to click. It’s always interesting seeing how these personalities navigate those challenges, and thankfully, it ended on a positive note with the group bonding.

Adam Thomas was named the winner of this year’s ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’, but the series was marked by conflict and disagreements among the contestants, particularly between Adam, Jimmy Bullard, and David Haye. He appeared emotional as he received the title of ‘Jungle Legend’.

Beverley had to leave the show early due to a medical issue, and later received a breast cancer diagnosis. Following doctor’s advice, she wasn’t able to be at the live final.

In a social media video following the eventful finale, she claimed everyone involved was getting along well and planned to celebrate with drinks afterward – though photos taken later seemed to tell a different story.

Speaking from her home in Dublin, Beverley commented on what an incredible final it was, adding that she had just finished recording a segment for Unpacked.

I have to say, being a part of that was incredible. I unfortunately couldn’t make it for the entire time, missing the last few days, but it was truly an experience I’ll never forget – a real opportunity of a lifetime.

Adam is incredibly handsome. I’ve known him, along with his brother Ryan, and both of their parents, for a long time.

‘And they are just beautiful people. Sean is fantastic. Gemma’s fantastic. David was fantastic.

Oh my gosh, if you could have seen what they didn’t show! Everyone genuinely got along so well, it was amazing. They definitely highlighted the drama, you know, the bits where things got tense. But honestly, the really sweet, loving moments? They barely touched those. It’s like they wanted to focus on the conflict, and not how much everyone actually cared for each other. It’s frustrating because there was so much genuine connection!

Believe me, after the show tonight in London, everyone’s planning to go out for drinks and have a great time together.

I really wish I could have been there, of course. But I can assure you, everyone involved was fantastic.

At the end of the show, Ant and Dec let Jimmy explain what happened after Adam reportedly used a highly offensive slur during a heated argument. This argument started when Jimmy mentioned ‘I’m a Celebrity’ during a trial, putting Adam at risk of being eliminated.

Things got really tense when Gemma Collins and Sinitta walked off set after Jimmy went around asking the campmates if they believed Adam was acting aggressively or abusively.

After a heated exchange, Ant ended the argument with Jimmy by saying, ‘Let’s just leave it at that and agree to disagree.’

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe what happened! I was practically glued to the TV after the show ended, and then I heard Ant was leaving – and guess who he almost bumped into? Jimmy! Apparently, it was super awkward, and it happened right as Ant was walking home with his wife, Anne-Marie. I can just imagine the tension! It’s all I’ve been thinking about since!

Ant seemed to ignore Jimmy’s attempts to talk to him, and a security guard eventually intervened.

Even though the show is currently good, the growing tension between the celebrities and hosts could jeopardize its future.

Despite winning the title of Jungle Legend, Adam appeared disappointed leaving the show with his brothers, Ryan and Scott Thomas, as his victory was marred by ongoing disagreements and drama.

Jimmy confessed to blaming Adam for his decision to leave the trial, which caused a major argument that surprised and upset television viewers.

The retired soccer player explained he left due to private issues and revealed his full salary depended on completing a challenge on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ – specifically, saying the show’s catchphrase.

Jimmy admitted he handled the situation poorly and understands why Adam and others are upset with him. He acknowledged he unfairly blamed someone else and takes full responsibility for his actions.

I absolutely won’t tolerate abusive, aggressive, or intimidating behavior from anyone.

Jimmy asked Ant and Dec for their take on the situation, pointing out that they had been present but hadn’t included any of the relevant video footage.

‘You didn’t show any of the C-bombs, it’s a liberty’, Jimmy fumed.

Ant argued: ‘The reason we didn’t air the C-bomb is because that is unbroadcastable.

‘I was there and I didn’t think it was intimidating. I was there Jim.’

David, facing claims that he bullied Adam on the show, didn’t agree with Ant and supported the ex-footballer’s request for an explanation about why Adam was swearing at Jimmy.

Oh my gosh, did you hear Adam?! When David started talking, Adam totally shut him down, telling him to just let the finalists have their moment! The whole audience erupted – everyone was cheering! It was amazing, Adam was so right to speak up for us, for the finalists! I was screaming, honestly!

Adam stated he fully accepts responsibility for what happened, and acknowledged that emotions were strong at the time.

I genuinely care about Jimmy and feel for him. I’ve apologized to him many times, and I truly listen to his concerns. All I can do now is offer another apology.

I don’t like how I came across, and I’ve never presented myself that way before or since. I apologize, Jimmy.

David jokingly commented, but Ant and Dec quickly told him to stop talking over them.

David explained that he prefers to be honest and direct. He believes there’s been a lot of manipulation to portray Adam as a victim in order to gain public sympathy.

There was a lot of playful joking between us, though much of what they said was left on the cutting room floor. Now, I feel it’s time to share what really happened.

Sinitta angrily left the stage and confronted the audience, telling them the situation had been intensely aggressive and frightening, and that she had personally experienced it as abusive and deeply unsettling.

Gemma, who is a close friend of Adam, then followed as she also left the stage.

Jimmy called out, explaining that even if Adam apologized, aggressive, abusive, or intimidating behavior wasn’t acceptable.

I strongly disagree with your claim that wasn’t aggressive, abusive, or intimidating. You can’t honestly say that. Let’s show everyone the footage and let them judge for themselves – play it right now!

Ant and Dec wrapped up: ‘Right, let’s leave it there. We’ll agree to disagree Jim.’
