Shia LaBeouf stirs up trouble with bikini-clad girlfriend and loud phone calls at wellness spa, per insider

Shia LaBeouf was seen at a wellness spa called Spyre in New Orleans on Thursday, and it looks like he might be getting into trouble again, as he’s known to do.

Once a rising star in Hollywood, the 39-year-old has faced a difficult few months, including two arrests following a fight during Mardi Gras celebrations in February.

Shortly after, video surfaced of him angrily telling a woman to ‘get lost’ while in Rome, and another video showed him disrupting the peace in a hotel lobby.

Photos recently surfaced on Spyre show the actor topless and lounging on a towel with Nicole Mumphrey, who seems to be his new partner. However, people who were there say the pictures don’t capture the whole situation.

Guests say Shia LaBeouf has been disrupting the spa’s calm environment with constant loud phone calls, and his public displays of affection with Margaret Qualley are causing some tension.

Photos taken on Thursday show him kissing her thigh while she relaxed in a bikini, which apparently bothered other people nearby.

The Daily Mail has reached out to LaBeouf’s representatives for comment. 

Similar to Shia LaBeouf, Mumphrey has also faced legal issues and been involved in an unhealthy relationship.

An insider claimed to the Daily Mail that their fledgling romance ‘is not going to end well.’

On June 27, 2021, Mumphrey was accused of aggravated assault and false imprisonment involving a weapon, following an incident with her former partner at their New Orleans home.

After being arrested, Mumphrey was released on a $2,000 bond, according to court records obtained by the Daily Mail.

The court required her to finish a program for people who commit domestic abuse by November 2021.

I remember when Shia LaBeouf finally spoke out after his arrest in New Orleans. It was back in February, and honestly, the interview was pretty strange – he said some really odd things. It was definitely a moment everyone was talking about.

During an appearance on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, the former child star surprised people with his unusual and sometimes shocking comments.

Among them was a claim that he felt ‘scared’ when approached by three gay men on Fat Tuesday.

During a conversation, LaBeouf admitted he feels intimidated by large groups of gay men. He specifically described feeling scared when physically approached by them, stating, ‘When I’m standing by myself and three gay dudes are next to me, touching my leg, I get scared.’ He apologized if this came across as prejudiced, adding, ‘If that’s homophobic then I’m that.’

He described the argument, saying he’d been drinking and felt someone had gotten too close for comfort. However, he acknowledged he wasn’t thinking clearly and took full responsibility for his part in it.

He took responsibility for using a homophobic slur, explaining, ‘I said something hurtful and unacceptable. I didn’t mean to offend anyone… I was wrong.’

Witnesses reported that LaBeouf became increasingly agitated at a business and was asked to leave by staff. They claim he then physically attacked a man, hitting him repeatedly with his fists.

Okay, so things got really bad. Apparently, Shia went back to where it all started, and witnesses say he attacked the first person again! Then, unbelievably, he just… punched another guy right in the face! I’m horrified, but honestly, part of me is just… fascinated by the chaos. It’s just… Shia being Shia, I guess, but it’s so much more intense than I ever imagined. I need to know everything!

He  posted a $100,000 bond after making a court appearance. 

The actor is now required to check into rehab and undergo regular drug and alcohol testing.

After the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025, Shia LaBeouf moved to New Orleans, a city where his family has a long history.

LaBeouf detailed some family history elsewhere in the interview. 

He shared that his grandmother on his father’s side was a lesbian who married a man to create the appearance of a heterosexual relationship – he was a ‘beard,’ a partner used to conceal her true sexual orientation.

His family name was originally LeBoeuf, but his grandmother changed the spelling. She did this to separate herself from her family, who had rejected her.

He stated his acceptance of homosexuality, but with a clear boundary: he’s comfortable with people being gay, as long as it doesn’t involve any physical intimacy with him.

During a recent interview, the actor briefly mentioned the end of his marriage to Mia Goth.

The exes share daughter Isabel, who turned four in March. 

This isn’t a recent breakup. I don’t want to go into too much detail because it’s not just my story to share. But I take responsibility for the failure of my marriage, and that’s why I moved away.
