Jersey Shore star Snooki, 38, shares fears over ‘scary’ surgery amid cervical cancer battle

Oh my gosh, I’m absolutely devastated to hear this! Snooki – Nicole, I mean – just shared that she’s getting a hysterectomy. Apparently, she found out she has cervical cancer, and she’s only 38! It sounds so scary, and I’m just sending all my love and positive vibes her way. I’m so worried about her and hoping everything goes okay. It’s just… heartbreaking to think about her going through this.

The reality TV star first revealed her surprising diagnosis in February, letting her followers know she had early-stage cervical cancer.

The Jersey Shore star told People she had a difficult emotional moment. ‘I was in the car when I called my mom, and I was crying uncontrollably, really worried about everything,’ she explained.

I’ve got some really positive news to share! Recent tests show the cancer is still very early stage, which is fantastic. After a hysterectomy planned for the next few months, doctors don’t anticipate any further treatment being needed. It’s such a relief to hear that the prognosis is so good, and I’m sending all my best wishes!

Polizzi confessed she was frightened. She lives in Florham Park, New Jersey, with her husband, Jionni LaValle, and their three kids.

Honestly, when things get tough, I always tell myself it could be worse, and I can handle whatever comes my way. I truly believe that, and I know I’ll be okay.

Long before her diagnosis, Polizzi had been dealing with a pattern of abnormal Pap smear results.

Although she didn’t consider the results alarming, her doctor recommended she come back for checkups every six months, much more frequently than the usual three years.

Eventually, Polizzi stopped doing the follow-up exams because she found them unpleasant.

‘I ended up not going for like a year and a half because it’s uncomfortable, it’s not fun.’

Looking back, she admits she was aware of the potential danger but chose to avoid confronting it. 

She admits she had a feeling something might go wrong, but she avoided facing the problem, acting as if everything was okay.

Snooki didn’t return until her doctor repeatedly called her throughout 2025, and only after receiving serious warnings about her health.

She remembered her doctor leaving a panicked voicemail, urgently telling her she needed to come in immediately because it was a serious issue that could get worse. That’s what finally prompted her to make an appointment.
