Let me tell you, even after all these years in the industry, things don’t always go smoothly! I recently heard that Lynne McGranger – you probably know her from Home and Away – had a pretty intense moment on set where she lost her cool with a colleague. It just goes to show, we all have those days, even the pros!
The 73-year-old soap opera actor had several arguments with a coworker on the set of the Channel Seven show, and ultimately lost their temper.
McGranger recently shared on the ‘Cracking On’ podcast that they experienced bullying, and emphasized that it can happen at any age.
I usually try to be patient, but sometimes I just reach my breaking point. I can handle things for a while, but eventually I completely lose my temper.
Lynne explained that she had a major outburst on set, and that people nearby – including extras and other actors – witnessed her getting very angry.
She explained that with nearly the entire cast and many extras present, there seemed little point in keeping things private.
I recall asking someone, ‘Are you always rude, or just to me?’ and they replied, ‘Only to you.’ I remember thinking to myself, ‘That’s what I figured.’
Her outburst worked – McGranger said the person who bothered her stopped after that.
‘You know what? Never again. Never again!’ she said.
Daily Mail has reached out to Channel Seven for comment.
After more than 30 years playing a role on the popular soap opera, McGranger ended that part of her career last year.
The actress finished filming her last scenes for the show Home and Away, and the series shared touching moments from her final day on set.
It’s been an incredible experience, and I’m so grateful for everyone involved. I especially want to thank the cast – Ray, Georgie, Emily, Shane, Ada, James, and all the younger performers – they said in a recent statement.
Honestly, it’s not just the actors, you know? It’s everyone behind the scenes – the art department, the writers, seriously, so many people who don’t get the credit they deserve! This show isn’t just one thing, it’s a million little pieces all working together, and it’s amazing to me how they all fit!
I’ve truly enjoyed working with all of you – you’re a fantastic team. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and feel very honored by your support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
For thirty years, Lynne was a beloved character on the show Home and Away, playing Irene Roberts, known as a resilient and determined ‘Aussie battler’.
She announced her departure from the show with a statement last year.
The veteran star said it was a bittersweet moment to leave a job they’ve loved for nearly 33 years, surrounded by people they consider family. It was the best and longest opportunity of their career.
She continued, expressing deep gratitude to the incredible production crew and our brilliant writers – who were always available – for all their support of Irene over the last 33 years.
I’m really happy with how the story is developing, especially that it will lead to Irene leaving Bay. And a huge thank you to all the fans for your amazing support!
The iconic actress won the coveted Gold Logie at last year’s ceremony for her performance as Irene.
