Clash of Clans, from Supercell, is getting a new update in April 2026, and it looks like it will be a significant one. We’re already hearing about both confirmed features and leaked information. Here’s a rundown of everything you need to know before the update arrives.
Clash of Clans April 2026 update explained
Ranked Mode changes
The official release date for the revamped Ranked Mode is April 2026. This update continues the improvements that started earlier this year, following changes made in January to address concerns about progression and player fatigue.
Legend League is now divided into three levels – Legend I, Legend II, and Legend III – to create fairer matches. This change groups players by skill, making the ranking system more organized. You’ll still earn the same rewards, but progressing through the ranks will feel more clear and structured.
We’re making the game experience better outside of the top Legend League. It now takes fewer battles to progress through the leagues, and we’ve made it much easier to avoid being demoted due to inactivity. You can now be inactive for up to a month without losing rank, and even after that, any rank drops will happen slowly, one step at a time.
New Dragon Duke hero equipment

Since Dragon Duke was added to Clash of Clans, players are speculating about new hero equipment for him. There’s talk of ‘Electro Fangs,’ which could deal chain damage similar to the Electro Dragon, though likely not as strong.
New troop and building levels expected

When will the April 2026 update release in Clash of Clans
The April update is happening, but we don’t have exact dates yet. Recent leaks suggest a Dragon Duke Equipment Boost Event will start on April 27, 2026, and the update may launch on that same day.
