There’s a good chance fans will get a second season of Dan Levy’s Netflix comedy, Big Mistakes. Here’s the latest information we have.
The new comedy, created by Eugene Levy and Rachel Sennott (known for Shiva Baby), centers around two clumsy siblings. Pastor Nicky (Levy) and teacher Morgan (Taylor Ortega) accidentally get involved with criminals after a single error starts a series of unfortunate events.
Anyone who watched the first season of Big Mistakes, which has eight episodes, will remember it’s full of suspenseful cliffhangers. The season finale suggested that the issues with the stolen necklace for Nicky and Morgan are still unfolding and will likely become more personal than they expected.

Although everything suggests ‘Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh’ will return for a second season, Netflix hasn’t confirmed it officially. However, creator Levy has a well-defined plan for how the story of Nicky and Morgan will ultimately conclude, so fans have reason to be optimistic.
The Schitt’s Creek star revealed he knows how the show will ultimately conclude, but expressed a desire to continue exploring the story for many more seasons, according to People magazine.
Dan Levy has shown he’s a talented comedian with Schitt’s Creek, the popular and award-winning series he created with his father, Eugene Levy. Given the success of Schitt’s Creek, which aired for six seasons from 2015 to 2020, there’s a good chance his show Big Mistakes will be renewed for a second season.
What to Read Next
Levy shared with TV Insider that he has a very clear vision for the show’s second season, admitting he’s already developed much of it in his own mind.
If we get a second season, it’s going to be even more ambitious and exciting, and I’m really looking forward to starting work with the writers again – we have a lot more story to explore.

After the recent events in the Netflix show, Big Mistakes, creator Levy explained that Morgan and Nicky are now too involved with the cartel – which has surprising family connections – to easily escape the situation. (Be warned: spoilers ahead!)
Annette (Elizabeth Perkins), who Morgan is set to become mother-in-law to, is actually the leader of a criminal organization. However, even this tough boss has a soft spot for her son, Max (Jack Innanen), who is also Morgan’s fiancé.
“[Annette] needs to keep him happy,” Levy added to Variety.
Morgan’s relationship is key to her son’s happiness, and she needs to protect that. Plus, Nicky and Morgan now know too much to simply walk away – they’d have some serious explaining to do.
The show just arrived on Netflix two weeks ago, so a second season is definitely still possible. It’s currently one of the most popular shows on the platform! We’ll share any news about season 2 as soon as we have it.
Big Mistakes season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
