The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Developer Notes for Version 1.2 Updates, Appreciation Rewards, and Future Plans
Netmarble has released the ninth in a series of developer updates for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, the open-world action RPG based on Nakaba Suzuki’s popular manga. This latest update details the major improvements planned for Version 1.2. Hopefully, these new updates will continue the game’s positive progress.
The developers also shared their plans for future updates and thanked the community for their support. This suggests they’re moving into a more focused and ambitious period of improving the game after its release. This is especially good news for fixing performance problems, as the game initially launched with some issues. If they can address these, I’m hopeful my concerns about how the game runs will be resolved.
A Sincere Apology by the developers and a Gift for Star Guardians
The development team followed up with a thoughtful and appreciative message. They understand that recent stability problems have made some players worried about future game updates and the game’s overall path, and they sincerely apologize for the unstable experience. It’s good to see this kind of communication from the developers, especially since they are addressing the issues and letting us know what’s happening.
To show they’re truly sorry, they’re not just offering words, but also giving players a gift. All Star Guardians will receive a special in-game present, which can be claimed through their mailbox until May 13th at 7:00 AM UTC. They also hinted at more rewards to come during the livestream for update 1.2 and in a future Developer Notes update.
Quality-of-Life Improvements in Version 1.2
This update mainly aims to fix issues players have been experiencing for a while. A highly requested feature, continuous tracking for gathering and mining, is now available. The developers explain it took time to implement because it needed significant changes to the game’s underlying systems, not just a quick fix.
Players can now collect resources and track targets at the same time, which makes exploring the world and gathering materials much smoother. We’ve also improved crafting for engraved equipment – you can now see what skills and stats an item will have before using your materials, based on player feedback.
Update 1.2 lets players see what options are available for equipment right from the crafting screen. The developers said they’re sorry it took so long to add this feature, admitting it should have been done earlier. They’re also working to improve the main storyline in the Liones Region.
I was a little worried to hear that some players were getting stuck early on, especially when fighting enemies in the Pernes swamps during the tutorial. It sounds like the developers noticed that too, and they’re making some changes to help guide us through that part better in the new 1.2 update. That’s awesome – hopefully, it’ll make things smoother for everyone!
Equipment Systems and Future Content Direction
The team has also shared plans for improvements to how equipment is crafted. In the future, armor sets will require materials earned from specific activities, letting players target the items they want. This should give players more focused goals and make improving their gear at the endgame more rewarding.
Before finishing the update, the team answered questions from players worldwide about future plans. They confirmed they’ve been carefully considering feedback from surveys and the official Discord server.
The future Developer Notes are coming
The biggest news is that the developers will share more about their plans for the next update. They’ll be holding a special livestream on April 21st, and then on April 22nd, they’ll release detailed plans in a new developer update.
This update seems to be more than just fixing problems – it looks like the start of a bigger plan for new content that Netmarble is excited to share. I’m really hoping their upcoming livestream reveals what they’ve been working on and that it’s something impressive.
Final Thoughts
Netmarble’s ‘Developer Notes’ feels like a sincere effort to regain the trust of players after a difficult game launch. By clearly addressing past issues, offering helpful improvements, providing free gifts, and hinting at exciting future updates, Netmarble is sending a positive message about the game’s potential.
I’m cautiously optimistic about The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. It feels like they’re finally heading in a direction that could really keep players hooked long-term, but we’ll have to wait and see if it actually works out. If you’re a Star Guardian fan like me, definitely tune into the livestream on April 21st – that’s where they’re going to reveal everything that’s coming up!
