Debunking AI: Euphoria Star Chloe Cherry Reveals Her Faye Headcanon Going Into Season 3

The third season of HBO’s Euphoria is now available, and it picks up after a significant gap in production with a time jump. Chloe Cherry, who gained popularity in season 2, has an even larger role this season. The show has moved past high school, and now follows these troubled characters as they navigate the challenges of adulthood, continuing to address difficult themes like drug use.

Cherry plays Faye Valentine, a character named after the popular Cowboy Bebop character. In season 2 of Euphoria, Faye became close friends with Fez and Angus, and the season ended with a shocking cliffhanger. Now, in season 3, she’s back involved in drug dealing with Rue Bennett (played by Zendaya), and the show has a lot more in store for her before it finishes.

In a recent ScreenRant interview for the Debunking AI series, actress Cherry discussed her character Faye’s difficult situation, compared the personalities of the Euphoria cast to those of their characters, and revealed what she’s planning after the show’s third season.

Chloe Cherry Offers Insight Into Faye’s Euphoria Season 3 Story

Everyone is eager to find out what Faye was doing between the second and third seasons of Euphoria. Cherry playfully suggested that an AI could imagine anything, even Faye robbing banks! However, she was surprised to discover that she and the AI actually came up with similar ideas. Cherry believes that after Fez went to prison, Faye likely left Fez’s grandmother’s house and simply wanted to escape the dangerous situations she’d been involved in.

She’d recently started dating someone and moved in with him, and was attempting to find work. But she quickly became dissatisfied with any job she found, wanting to earn more money. This led her to reconnect with Rue and start drug-muling again.

The AI offered a general but comparable idea: Faye remained on the fringes of the drug and crime world, finding stability by aligning herself with those who could provide it. Cherry, the actor who portrayed the character, found the AI’s assessment amusingly accurate, exclaiming, “Seriously, what the heck? How did the AI think like me? It’s so strange because that’s exactly what I was thinking while playing the role!”

Behind The Scenes Of Euphoria With Chloe Cherry

Chloe Cherry, known for her role in Euphoria, has noticed fans often speculate about her personality online. She’s even seen comments suggesting she’s just like her character, Faye, in real life. “People often comment that I am Faye,” she shared, but she insists that’s not true, jokingly adding, “They wish!”

Hunter Shafer seems to share the most similarities with the character she plays, Jules, especially in her fashion sense. Cherry noted Hunter has “a really good style,” just like Jules. Conversely, Zendaya is quite different from her character, Rue. Cherry commented, “Zendaya is nothing like Rue; she’s her complete opposite, and it’s amazing how well she portrays the role.”

Cherry praised Jacob Elordi, saying he’s a genuinely kind and polite person in real life, completely different from his character Nate Jacobs. She also admired his decision to delete his Instagram, calling it “genius” and saying he’s “a baller” for doing so.

While Euphoria has launched her career, Zendaya isn’t slowing down anytime soon. She’s excited about what’s next, saying she wants to continue with all of her current projects. “I want to do more of everything – acting, movies, and fashion. Acting is my biggest passion, so definitely more of that!”
