Zoe Saldana’s Heartwarming MLK Day Volunteer Effort for Eaton Fire Victims!

On Martin Luther King Junior Day, Zoe Saldana dedicated her time by distributing aid to those affected by the Eaton Fire as a volunteer.

Actress Emilia Perez, aged 46, participated with volunteers from the National Day Laborer Organizing Network in Pasadena, offering support to the city’s and Altadena’s residents who were affected by the fire that occurred two weeks prior.

In an Instagram post, Zoe appeared without makeup and stated: ‘We find ourselves at the Pasadena Job Center, accompanied by the event organizers. Currently, we’re facing a significant shortage of many essential items. The number of cars and individuals queuing up here is astonishingly high.’

In her post, she shared that on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, they were out serving the communities of Pasadena and Altadena, providing aid following the Eaton Fire.

The Eaton Fire, currently holding at a containment level of 89%, has charred over 14 square kilometers, is suspected to have razed approximately 7,000 buildings, and unfortunately claimed the lives of 17 individuals.

The Eaton fire occurred simultaneously with a devastating blaze that ravaged the affluent star-studded area of Pacific Palisades, extending towards Malibu’s coastline. This second fire consumed approximately 23,713 acres of valuable property and claimed at least nine lives.

This month, Prince Harry and his spouse, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, lent a helping hand at the Pasadena Convention Center by distributing food and essentials to those affected by the California wildfires as volunteers.

The duo contributed resources, prepared meals alongside the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena, California, expressed gratitude to emergency personnel, and interacted with the families impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires, witnessing the destruction firsthand.

Mayor Victor Gordo of Pasadena shared with PEOPLE: “It’s fantastic that so many people and notable figures are taking the time to interact with our first responders and those who have been impacted. This interaction is crucial, as it significantly boosts the morale of our emergency personnel.

People expressed great joy upon seeing them, eager to offer assistance wherever possible. During our visit, we interacted with certain families who had been impacted in the fire-stricken neighborhoods of Pasadena and Altadena.

They made an effort to interact with those who have been impacted, showing genuine concern and spending quality time with them. They truly care about their community, treating their friends and neighbors with compassion.

He mentioned that Harry and Meghan weren’t there for self-promotion, and earlier in the day, they had provided meals discreetly without drawing attention to themselves.

Accompanied by my team, we paid a visit to some of the households in the impacted region, gaining a firsthand understanding of their struggles.
