According to People magazine, the medical examiner in Maricopa County has determined that the social media personality took their own life. The cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Chris, a vocal advocate for sobriety and mental health since 2018, has amassed a substantial following across social media platforms. On TikTok alone, he boasts an impressive 842,000 followers and a total of 28.2 million likes. Additionally, his Instagram profile counts over 241,000 followers.

In November 2024, despite being less active on the app, he posted a reel showcasing various hiking trips accompanied by a contemplative caption reflecting on his legacy following his demise.

In simpler terms, he pondered over whether, when he departs from this world, exits the daily grind (or rat race), and lies in the ground, you would recall his features.

The video started off showing Chris paddling a canoe on a lake, taking in the scenic beauty all around him, followed by him flashing a smile towards the camera.

In the narrative that followed, I shared anecdotes from my global adventures. These tales encompassed a chilly trek through the snow-capped mountains and a journey across arid deserts.

Or, more informally:
I went on to share some stories of my world travels, like the time I hiked in the snowy hills and drove through the scorching desert.

In another instance, I found myself frolicking with a furry companion, prior to harmonizing with the lively beats of “Manic Man” by Curtis Waters, within the confines of a recording studio.

Or, more casually:

On another occasion, I was hanging out with a doggo and jamming to “Manic Man” by Curtis Waters in a music studio.

I want to truly live when you call out my name; I want to truly live when you share my suffering.

I ponder what people will recall about me once I’ve departed from this world; Once I step away from the fast-paced life; When I lie in the ground, it will be my face they’ll remember.

‘Put me in the books or hide me in my casket; I don’t wanna be alive if I’m in the last place.’

A week ago, Chris shared an Instagram photo featuring him wearing a straw cowboy hat, aviator glasses, and a white button-up shirt amidst the desert landscape.

Among Chris’s friends, Morgan Ballou penned a heartfelt remembrance on his memorial site, saying, “Chris, my love for you will last eternally. You’ve been a beacon in my life since our encounter in 2016. I regret that we didn’t move to California together as planned in 2021, just like we discussed.

I truly miss our regular conversations and hope we could stay connected more frequently beyond just occasional online chats. There’s so much I long to share with you. Ultimately, I wish for your tranquility. My heart aches deeply. Sending all my love, thoughts, and prayers to your family during this difficult time, especially to Blue.

One of his admirers also extended sympathies to the family, expressing, ‘I’m deeply sorry for your sorrow, my heart grieves with yours. Though I never had the chance to meet Chris personally, he was an extraordinary individual who served as a profound inspiration and motivation for me to hit the gym.’

I thoroughly enjoyed observing him as he showcased his experiences and enthusiasm for life through social media platforms, always radiating a passionate glow.

In his own TikTok post, fellow creator Kevin Clevenger (Iron Sanctuary) paid tribute to O’Donnell by reminiscing about their past moments together.

In a future moment, I will find solace in the thought that you no longer suffer, but today, my heart grieves because you’re not here. My affection for you remains unchanged, expressed through this message posted on Thursday.

Many people, both fans and admirers, poured heartfelt tributes into the comment section of his most recent Instagram post, honoring O’Donnell.

One of Chris’ last posts on TikTok was a video of himself giving a speech at his brother’s wedding.

He expressed that it was among his most cherished experiences as a sibling, having the opportunity to see these two embark on the next phase of their journey.

Instead of only posting about workouts and fitness tips, this influencer also regularly uploaded pictures and clips of his pet and outdoor expeditions on both social media networks.

In a 2022 post pinned on his Instagram profile, he shared details about his past, disclosing that he hails from Norfolk, Virginia, and possesses a history working in the field of mental health and substance abuse.

He mentioned that it’s probably clear to you, but here’s the scoop – I primarily produce content related to fitness. But let me tell you, fitness isn’t what truly ignites my passion.

I’ve dropped out of college twice, and I’ve held numerous jobs ranging from working as a pool attendant in Florida to enduring fish guts for 20 hours daily at an Alaskan salmon processing plant. In my brief time on earth, I’ve encountered various aspects of life, and I have a deep fascination with learning about diverse cultures and beliefs that help me question and reconsider my own.

‘I love beauty, and I find nothing more beautiful than the world we live in,’ he added.

As a nature enthusiast with an unwavering passion, let me tell you that I adore the great outdoors – from the tiniest of creatures, excluding the pesky mosquitoes, to the vast landscapes that surround them. In his later comments, he shared that he has been vocal about mental health issues ever since he started advocating for them during his leadership role in high school.
