Schitt’s Creek star Eugene Levy’s $3.9 million California home burns to the ground in horrific LA wildfire
Eugene Levy is now among those affected deeply by the destructive wildfires sweeping through the wider Los Angeles region.
78-year-old actor from Schitt’s Creek had his Los Angeles home, located in the Pacific Palisades district, destroyed by a fast-moving fire that swept through the area.
On a tense Tuesday, I found myself ensnared in the relentless grip of LA’s traffic, trying desperately to vacate my neighborhood before the encroaching flames could reach me.
Back in the year 2006, it is said that Levy acquired his real estate at a comparatively low price of approximately $3.9 million, as per Urban Splatter’s reports.
The house had a total of three bedrooms and bathrooms each, spanning across approximately 2,081 square feet with a design that includes two floors.
According to reports, it apparently originated in 1950, boasting a connected garage, and a graceful staircase that spiraled up from the driveway towards the entrance.

Regardless of its relatively modest size compared to typical celebrity homes, it featured charming details such as attractive trees and bushes that offered a touch of seclusion at the front facade.
But all that has been reduced to a pile of smoldering rubble now.
Actor from American Pie fame hails from Canada and has spent a significant portion of his life residing in Toronto. There, he brought up his kids, Dan and Sarah Levy, who joined him in the hit comedy show Schitt’s Creek that they all starred in together.
In a different location, he owns an expansive estate, while his residence in Pacific Palisades seemed to serve as his base mainly during filming ventures near Los Angeles.
In conversation with the Los Angeles Times yesterday, Levy characterized the smoke from the fire in Temescal Canyon as dense and intensely black, stating that he could not spot any actual flames, but the smoke appeared extremely dark.
In 2021, Levy was bestowed an honorary position as the mayor of Pacific Palisades, which is particularly significant for him.
In this role, declarations are purely symbolic for the local area since it falls under Los Angeles’ municipal jurisdiction. However, Levy often participated in community gatherings due to his position.
Eugene, Dan, or Sarah didn’t post anything about the devastating wildfire that destroyed their house on social media.
The Pacific Palisades fire broke out on Tuesday morning and was fueled by high winds.
The region, having recently become quite dry yet boasting abundant plant life due to wet winter seasons, now offers ideal conditions for a wildfire, providing ample combustible material for the fire.
In comparison to other regions within Greater Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades has a lower population density, meaning it’s greener with more trees and plants. This contrasts with denser areas filled with concrete and asphalt, which offer less combustible material for fires.
Approximately 30,000 individuals have already been displaced thus far, most of whom were forced to depart under emergency circumstances, taking only a few essentials like their garments and, if given the chance, their beloved pets.
Sunset Boulevard, famously known, passes through Pacific Palisades. However, it transformed into a chaotic disaster zone as motorists, filled with panic, abandoned their high-end cars amidst traffic congestion. As a result, these vehicles obstructed the path, necessitating bulldozers to clear them so that firefighters could reach the affected area.
Homes along the Pacific Coast Highway and into Malibu have also been burned to the ground.
The Getty Villa, modeled after an old Roman villa, faced the threat of a fire that burned parts of the surrounding greenery. Fortunately, due to the museum’s safety precautions, it seems that both the buildings themselves and their sculptures, artwork, were spared from damage.
Besides the Palisades fire, Los Angeles residents should also be concerned about the Eaton fire, which ignited in the area of Altadena and quickly expanded towards Pasadena, a densely populated city, leading to additional evacuation orders.
In certain locations, the powerful gusts that exceeded 100 miles per hour have posed significant challenges for firefighters in their efforts to extinguish the flames. Moreover, these firefighters have had to deal with a scarcity of water due to ruptured water pipes as a result of the fires.
In my dedication to keeping up with celebrity news, I noticed several stars hurriedly evacuating due to the fires, among them was Ben Affleck. He swiftly made his way to his former partner, Jennifer Lopez’s residence, to assist her in a safe exit from the flames as well.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness when contemplating the misfortune that befall some of my beloved stars. Among them are Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, who suffered the heartbreaking loss of their home, and Anna Faris, whose magnificent mansion was also taken away.
Actor James Woods posted a video of the advancing fire just moments before he had to leave, as it turned out his home was destroyed.
Brody and Meester are among a host of celebrities affected by the blaze.
Hollywood movie star Anna Faris has lost her mansion during the devastating fire.
In simpler terms, Reality TV personalities Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag witnessed their house being consumed by a wildfire. Before evacuating with their family, Spencer was captured on camera with a solemn expression as he watched the fire advance.
