I’m heartbroken to hear that Samuel Monroe Jr., best known for his powerful role in ‘Menace II Society,’ is seriously ill with meningitis and currently fighting for his life in the hospital. It’s just awful news, and I’m sending all my hopes for his recovery.
Oh my gosh, I just heard the most awful news! Brett Monroe Jr., you might remember him as that guy in ‘Poetic Justice’ with Sam Jackson, Jada Pinkett, and Tyrin Turner – he’s seriously ill! Apparently, he’s 52 and his family told TMZ he’s on life support at a hospital here in Southern California. I’m just devastated! I loved that movie and I’m sending all my hope that he pulls through.
His mother shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, praying for Sam and asking for God’s compassion. She expressed her deep love for her son, saying she loves him more than words can say.
Monroe Jr. has also starred in Tales from the Hood, Set It Off, Out All Night and NYPD Blue.
He’s recently taken on multiple roles as a director, writer, and producer, even creating his own TV series called ‘The Halls.’ The show focuses on the experiences of children entering the juvenile justice system.
Monroe Jr. also pursued music as a rapper, collaborating with well-known producers like Battlecat and Duane Nettlesby to create his songs.
