As someone who has spent a significant portion of my life navigating the complex world of Hollywood and its intricate power dynamics, I find myself deeply troubled by the ongoing saga between Blake Lively and Ian Bohen, the stars of the film “The Rhythm Section.

According to a major lawsuit filed by Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni stands accused of intruding into her private trailer when she was undressed, as well as allowing others to observe her filming intimate or explicit scenes for a movie.

In a recent turn of events, Lively has filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, claiming that he subjected her to sexual harassment and fostered an unpleasant work atmosphere during the filming of “It Ends With Us.” However, Baldoni has vigorously refuted these accusations.

According to the legal documentation submitted by Team Lively, it is stated that a meeting involving everyone (an ‘all hands’ gathering) took place on the 4th of this year. This meeting was reportedly convened to discuss and address the unfriendly work environment that had come very close to halting the production of the Film.

The gathering is reportedly attended by both Baldoni and Jamey Heath, who serves as the CEO of Wayfarer Studios, Baldoni’s production company, as well as a producer associated with It Ends With Us.

During the gathering, it is claimed that attendees addressed alleged instances of inappropriate behavior by Baldoni and Heath. At the conclusion of the meeting, all parties involved reportedly consented that the specified behavior would no longer occur, according to a lawsuit copy obtained by the New York Times.

A consensus seemed to be reached stating that neither Mr. Heath nor Mr. Baldoni should approach BL’s trailer or the makeup trailer when she is in the nude, under no circumstances for any reason, without permission and without interrupting, pressuring, or asking her to enter.

In simpler terms, it’s stated that every actor taking part in scenes with ‘BL’ where she is either naked or appears to be naked should be professional, working actors, not merely friends of the director or producers. These actors must have previously been approved by ‘BL’.

The lawsuit includes allegations that Baldoni showed Lively nude videos and images of other women, discussed his alleged porn addiction, and made inappropriate remarks about her weight, her late father, and other members of the cast and crew.

In Lively’s court document, it is stated that Baldoni performed an unplanned and unscheduled physical affection during a scene without any previous conversation or rehearsal.

A report suggests that in one instance, Baldoni was said to have “subtly nibbled and sucked on Ms. Lively’s lower lip” during several retakes, persistently requesting additional filming even though it seemed Lively was distinctly uneasy.

The lawsuit alleges Baldoni made sexual inquiries, including asking Lively if she and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, experienced simultaneous climaxes— a question she found intrusive and refused to answer.

In simpler terms, Lively alleges that Baldoni added unnecessary explicit sexual content and nudity scenes, even for a minor character, in a way that was uncomfortable or disturbing, before the start of filming.

In my fervor as a devoted fan, I can’t help but share this intriguing tidbit: Rumors swirled about potential additions to the movie script that had Ms. Lively simulating an on-screen climax and a detailed sequence portraying the younger Lily Bloom, a character played by Lively herself, experiencing her first time—scenes not present in the original novel.

As per the complaint, these additional changes were implemented in the project without Lively’s approval, following her initial commitment.

When Lively expressed her concerns, it’s said that Baldoni justified the modifications, stating that he was constructing the narrative “from a woman’s perspective.

Initially resistant to cutting out many sequences, he is said to have vigorously argued for the inclusion of a specific scene showing his character, Lily’s husband (Ryle Kincaid), and Lily reaching their climax together on their wedding night. He emphasized that this scene was significant to him as it mirrored the simultaneous climax he shares with his real-life partner during intimacy.

The allegations extend to the film’s producer, Jamey Heath, who is accused of compounding the toxic environment.

The lawsuit claims Heath pressured Lively to simulate nudity during a childbirth scene, despite prior agreements that no nudity was required.

In this account, it’s claimed that the setting apparently did not adhere to typical industry safety measures. Consequently, Lively was depicted in a state that could be described as almost entirely unclothed, with her legs spread apart in stirrups, and only a minimal piece of fabric concealing her private areas.

It’s also alleged that Health exhibited a graphic, completely explicit video of his wife delivering their baby to Lively and her aide, who initially thought it was adult content.

Furthermore, it is claimed that Baldoni and Heath repeatedly barged into Lively’s trailer without warning on various instances when she was either naked, breastfeeding, or in a state of vulnerability.

The complaint details an incident where Heath entered Lively’s makeup trailer uninvited while she was topless.

Even though Lively asked him to wait until she was dressed, Heath is said to have looked at her anyway, disregarding her clear instruction for him to look away.

Another unsettling claim involves Baldoni improvising an intimate moment during a slow-dance scene.

As stated in the court document, Baldoni moved closer while out of character, and then softly trailed his lips from her ear to her neck, whispering, “It has such a lovely scent.

When Lively objected to his actions, Baldoni allegedly retorted, ‘I’m not even attracted to you.’

After a gathering in January 2024, which included Lively, Baldoni, producers, and Ryan Reynolds, it seems that Wayfarer Studios decided to hire an intimacy coach for all scenes featuring nudity or simulated sexual content.

The studio also assured that no further improvised kissing or physical intimacy would occur.

Meanwhile, bombshell text messages how how Baldoni’s crisis management team allegedly launched an smear campaign against Lively.

According to Lively’s team, the messages within the legal complaint unveil a complex strategy, labeled by Mr. Baldoni and his associates as “social manipulation,” aimed at damaging the reputation of Ms. Lively. This supposedly started after she voiced concerns about working conditions on set.

During the promotion of the film, whispers about a disagreement between the main actors started circulating, as some sharp-eyed spectators picked up on an icy dynamic between them at public events.

However, before the filming began, Lively allegedly had reservations about working with Baldoni, as suggested in her lawsuit. They reportedly disagreed over his attempts to incorporate unnecessary nudity and sexual content into the film.

Tensions escalated significantly during production, eventually leading to a human resources meeting where Baldoni from Wayfarer Studio and Lively negotiated certain terms. These conditions were accepted by both parties for Lively to reconsider continuing filming post-writers’ strike, as indicated in the documents.

Then sometime before August 2, Baldoni hired crisis management expert Melissa Nathan, whose previous clients have included Jonny Depp, as part of his PR team which also included publicist Jennifer Abel.

A significant number of communications within the court case, acquired through a subpoena, involve conversations among the women. One such interaction includes Nathan expressing that he could ‘eliminate or discredit anyone’ with ease.

The message was sent in reply to Abel’s text which says that Baldoni, ‘wants to feel like she [Lively] can be buried’.

Nathan replies, “Absolutely – I understand that when we share documents, we can’t include what we might or might not do, as it could lead to complications for us.” He then continues, “And we definitely won’t promise to harm her.

She followed up the message with another which reads, ‘Imagine if a document saying all the things that he wants ends up in the wrong hands.

‘You know we can bury anyone but I can’t write that to him. I will be very tough.’

Another back and forth on August 2 appears to show Nathan joking about murdering Lively.

In a more straightforward and less ominous tone, Nathan’s message could be rephrased as: ‘I’ve also sent you a gift. I assure you it wasn’t a body in a box. It’s a present to celebrate your success,’ with Abel replying: ‘Oh dear!’ or simply ‘Thanks!’

Later the same day, Abel penned down that she was contemplating some impulsive ideas to share this week regarding how difficult it is working alongside Blake.

In the meantime, it seems Baldoni is proposing the idea of organizing a strategic social media effort aimed at specific groups.

He sent a message showing a screenshot of a Twitter thread about allegations of bullying against Hailey Bieber with the caption: ‘This is what we would need’.

As rumors surfaced about friction between Lively and Baldoni, speculation arose that their disagreements were primarily related to creative matters.

Baldoni believed highlighting the central theme of domestic abuse in the movie would help with marketing, whereas Lively thought a more optimistic and inspiring approach would be beneficial.

Later on, Lively faced criticism due to her seemingly insensitive approach when promoting the movie, as she overlooked the issue of domestic abuse in numerous interviews following its release.

It’s uncertain whether this response was deliberately planned, but Baldoni’s communications seem to suggest that he was prepared to take advantage of the unfavorable publicity.

In a message, Baldoni asks for a specific approach regarding TikTok. He wants content creation focused solely on discussing domestic violence, sharing relevant clips, and emphasizing the significance of the movie in question.

However, while the debate over the movie continued fiercely, some of the darker accusations that Blake Lively had made privately against Baldoni started to surface in public media outlets.

They mentioned that he made uncomfortable remarks concerning her body size, and during romantic scenes, he spent an excessive amount of time.

The texts show how the crisis management team scrambled to try and ‘shift the narrative’ by reverting coverage back onto Lively.

On August 11, Abel sent Baldoni a message reassuring him that the stories were not a threat.

She mentioned that there wasn’t much response, but fans continue to back her, and they think the “dispute” over the movie was due to her taking charge of it. This is what she penned down.

Yesterday, I shared with Abel my thoughts on Justin’s supporters: “Most of them seem to be on his side, but I only align with about half of them, chuckling at the irony.” However, today I can’t help but marvel at the ‘masterful’ approach they’ve taken.

Jen, everything turned out wonderfully! I can’t wait to share the details with you soon. Let’s talk shortly and discuss how it all panned out. Truly, it was brilliant.

Further allegations about Baldoni’s unwelcome behavior are included in the legal complaint.

The allegations state that Baldoni displayed to Lively an explicit video of his spouse, entered her trailer when she was either naked or breastfeeding without permission, frequently discussed his suspected pornography habit, and made both Lively and other female employees uneasy through inappropriate sexual remarks.

During a January gathering involving Lively, Baldoni, and numerous studio representatives, matters were addressed. This meeting resulted in several modifications being consensually decided upon, one of which was the introduction of an intimacy coordinator on set.

Wayfarer concedes that while we may have differing views on various matters, it’s crucial for us to prioritize creating a secure space for everyone, as stated in the lawsuit.

Additionally, it appears that a media strategy document, believed to be from the crisis management team, presented within the legal complaint, details the team’s proposed methods for safeguarding Baldoni’s reputation, as well as those of lead producer Jamey Heath and fwayfWayfarer.

The document outlines several possible talking points to boost Baldoni, but also discredit Lively.

As a devoted admirer, I find myself reflecting on the somewhat questionable standing she holds within her professional sphere. It’s intriguing to consider the strategic move she made by bringing her spouse, Ryan Reynolds, into her work realm, potentially skewing the dynamics of power.

After the filming was completed, Lively opted to use her personal editor to rework a specific cut of the movie. This revised edition turned out to be the one that eventually got distributed.

In a different communication, Baldoni seems to propose leveraging Reynolds’ participation as an additional strategy for reaching out to Lively.

The message says that my partner proposed changing the story around this morning’s leak about Ryan claiming the script was a mess, but he managed to save the movie. They suggested we could use their own words against them as a strategy.

The document also suggests some crew members allegedly lost their jobs due to Lively’s insistence on creative control.

Baldoni has refuted the claims through his lawyer Brian Freedman.

‘It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives, as yet another desperate attempt to ‘fix’ her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film,’ he said.

Observations made on live, uncensored interviews and media events, where people could share their immediate thoughts and perspectives online.

“These statements are entirely untrue, excessively sensational, and deliberately scandalous, aimed at causing harm and perpetuating a story in the press.

Wayfarer Studios chose to bring on a crisis manager ahead of their movie’s marketing campaign as a precaution, with this individual collaborating alongside their representative from Jonesworks (hired by Stephanie Jones). This was done in response to the numerous demands and threats made by Ms. Lively during filming. These threats ranged from not appearing on set, to refusing to promote the movie, which could have severely impacted its success upon release, if her requests were not granted.

It emerged that Ms. Lively employed Leslie Sloan from Vision PR, who also manages Mr. Reynolds, to spread untrue and fictitious stories in the media, long before any promotional activities for the film started. This was one of the factors that led Wayfarer Studios to bring on a crisis management expert to prepare for potential issues by conducting internal strategic planning sessions.

At Wayfarer Studios, the representatives remained passive, neither taking initiative nor retaliating. They only answered incoming media questions to maintain a fair and accurate portrayal of events, while also keeping an eye on social media activity.

Freedman noted that the carefully selected emails lack proof of any active steps taken towards engaging with media, instead focusing on internal discussions about potential situations and private communication – behaviors commonly observed in public relations experts as part of their usual strategy-building process.

Lively denied planting false or negative stories about her co-star or his company.

She expressed her hope that her legal action would unveil the hidden, harmful strategies used against individuals speaking out about wrongdoings, thereby safeguarding others who might face similar targeting in the future.
