Zoe Kravitz breaks silence about ex-fiancé Channing Tatum’s ‘charisma’ after shock split
As a devoted fan who has witnessed Zoë Kravitz’s remarkable journey through the world of entertainment, I am captivated by her resilience and versatility as both an actress and director. Her recent reminiscence about working with Channing Tatum on Blink Twice showcases her ability to harness the charisma of her leading man for a gripping narrative.
Despite recently calling off their engagement, Zoë Kravitz remembers Channing Tatum’s ‘charisma.’
On a Thursday, the 36-year-old offspring of musician Lenny Kravitz discussed her experiences with casting and collaboration with an ex-partner during the filming of “Blink Twice,” a project she directed, scripted, and acted in, on Variety’s Directors on Directors show.
In our conversation with Matt Reeves, director of The Batman, I mentioned that Channing was the individual who immediately popped into my mind for portraying Slater King. Much like you might experience, I’m not entirely sure where this intuition originated from.
The multi-hyphenate added: ‘I knew that the character needed to be somebody who we think we trust, especially because you don’t believe Naomi [Ackie] is getting on that plane if it’s someone who is immediately insidious.
‘I wanted to weaponize his charisma. We’ve never seen him do something like that,’ she shared.
In August, the movie titled “Blink Twice” was released. This film centers around a circle of females who experience unusual events following an invitation to a secluded island owned by a successful tech tycoon and his affluent male companions.
Two months following the conclusion of a year-long engagement, the actress from “Rough Night” shares her thoughts about her ex-fiancé.
Back in the crisp autumnal days of October, I found myself privy to some intriguing news from a reliable confidant. It appeared that the enchanting actress who brings Gotham’s protector to life and the magnetic performer best known for his stripping skills had decided to part ways, concluding their three-year journey together.
A separate source informed the public, ‘The parting is friendly. They came to understand that they are in distinct phases of their lives.’
Another said they ‘haven’t been on the same page and grew apart.’
However, it’s not a permanent farewell since their upcoming movie “Alpha Gang” will have them working together again on set.
It is also slated to star Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun, Léa Seydoux and Riley Keough.
2025 is likely when production will start, but an official release date for the project hasn’t been announced yet.
According to industry sources, it appears that the pair are set to continue working on this project, as they hold mutual regard for each other.
“They expressed their enthusiasm for collaborating again on a fresh project, as they both share a passion for filmmaking and production.
‘Channing has a lot of respect for Zoë’s focus and passion.’
The breakup came as a surprising jolt to the pair, since Ryan Reynolds, known for playing Deadpool and Wolverine, was seen sporting Zoe’s initials tattooed on his hand by September.
Previously, the pair were last seen in a photo uploaded by Channing on his Instagram account on September 3. The image depicted Zoe seemingly asleep on Channing’s bare chest while he was taking a selfie of them both.
In his caption, the actor serenaded his love as he promoted Blink Twice.
This tiny morsel was incredibly weary, but she persisted, astonishingly, each time I questioned her resilience,” he exclaimed with admiration.
He was constantly seeking the truth and gave everything he had for this movie. He expressed his immense pride in standing firmly behind her, the film, and everyone involved, forever. The effort and struggle required to create it is something only they truly understand.
He concluded on a sweet note, adding, ‘Thank you for finding me and seeing me. I got you forever. Me and you back to back against it all. I’ll never blink. Let’s go.’
It seems that the last time the well-known pair was spotted together in person was on October 6, during an evening out to watch a performance of the play “Picture Day” at the Coffey Street Studio located in Brooklyn’s Red Hook area.
