Peter Crouch ‘in talks for Celebrity Traitors’ as BBC bosses eye footballer for series two

Former soccer star Peter Crouch is rumored to be joining the cast of the reality show Celebrity Traitors for its next season. Many believe he’s a strong contender for a spot.

The 45-year-old former footballer is a strong possibility for the show, as producers are looking for well-known celebrities to appear in the new version.

This news follows Claudia Winkleman’s recent announcement that the cast for the second series of Celebrity Traitors is confirmed. She was reportedly very surprised and excited by who will be appearing.

The popular BBC show, featuring a cast of well-known faces, debuted in late 2025, and comedian Alan Carr was revealed to be one of the ‘Traitors’ in the first season.

In late March, Claudia appeared on The One Show to promote her newly launched BBC chat show.

Following the success of the first series, people wondered if the next season of Celebrity Traitors would feature more well-known celebrities.

Honestly, when I first heard who was behind this, I was completely blown away! They actually had to repeat the names to me because I didn’t believe it – I thought it was a joke! It’s truly remarkable, and we should all feel incredibly fortunate to have such talented people involved.

Claudia questioned if many celebrities were interested in appearing on the next season of the show, following the popularity of the first ‘Celebrity Traitors’.

She said: ‘Yeah, I hope so. We’re so grateful that people want to come and play the game.

I still can’t believe the show got greenlit for a first season! Seeing Stephen Fry, Alan Carr, Ruth Codd – people I’ve always admired – walking around the castle was incredibly surreal and I was completely overwhelmed.

‘I’m very excited. But I can’t say anything else, don’t make eye contact with me.’

Before the official cast list is announced, rumors are circulating about who might be appearing in the new season.

According to The Mail on Sunday, popular actor Stephen Graham is a possible candidate to appear on the next season of the show, which is filmed at a castle.

According to a source, the show’s producers are really pushing to get Stephen on board, as they see him as a major attraction.

He’s a hugely talented and popular actor, but very private. Because people don’t know much about the real him, there’s a lot of interest in seeing him in a more natural, unscripted environment.

In January, reports surfaced that actor Danny Dyer would be joining the cast of Celebrity Traitors for its second season.

The 48-year-old former EastEnders actor wasn’t interested in the show at first, but his opinion changed after seeing how popular it became, especially after watching Alan Carr—the eventual winner—captivate audiences.

Danny was always a prime candidate for The Celebrity Traitors, but he wasn’t interested in joining until he watched the show last fall and saw how much fun everyone was having. Once he decided he wanted to participate, plans moved forward quickly.

Danny is exactly the kind of personality reality TV shows are looking for, and he’s a great value because his humor is natural and unique – very different from Alan Carr’s style.
