Tina Fey towers over her ‘travel-size’ husband Jeff Richmond on rare outing at Broadway’s Death Becomes Her
As a theater enthusiast with over three decades of attending productions under my belt, I must say that the opening night of “Death Becomes Me” was nothing short of spectacular! The star-studded cast, led by the ever-gorgeous Brooke Shields and the fabulous Kelly Rowland, truly brought the iconic film to life on stage.
On Thursday, Tina Fey had a special Broadway evening with her spouse Jeff Richmond as they attended the opening night of Death Becomes Her – a rare occasion for them to spend time together.
On the red carpet, the 54-year-old actress was seen affectionately with the 63-year-old composer. It is said that she affectionately calls him ‘compact’ or ‘travel-sized’, as reported by her former co-star from 30 Rock, Alec Baldwin.
Tina, who has been with Jeff since 2001, stayed cozy for their adventure, donning a long, black overcoat and black boots.
She gently accentuated her characteristics using minimal makeup, adding a hint of rosy color to her cheeks and a delicate shade of pink on her lips.
Simultaneously, Jeff, known for composing the music and directing several episodes of 30 Rock, exuded elegance in a striking navy suit with horizontal stripes.
He accessorized with a bright red tie and rocked a shaggy grey beard.
Previously, Baldwin had discussed Tina’s marriage in his 2017 memoir, “Nevertheless,” where he shared that he developed romantic feelings for her upon their first encounter, instead of saying he ‘fell in love.’
‘Upon my initial encounter with Tina Fey – stunningly beautiful, intelligent and witty, alternating between self-assured and modest, seemingly indifferent to me or anything I had to share – I felt a response that I imagine numerous men and women have experienced: I developed feelings for her,’ the actor penned.
‘Tina was then the head writer at “Saturday Night Live,” and I was hosting that week’s show.’
However, Baldwin later met Tina’s husband Jeff, on 30 Rock.
I inquired from Marci Klein, the one responsible for managing SNL performers, whether Tina was dating anyone. She gestured towards a man who seemed to be seated against the wall, or perhaps he was standing there. It turned out to be Jeff Richmond, as it happens, Tina’s spouse,’ is how Baldwin remembers it.
Jeff is quite small. Tina refers to him as “pocket-sized.” Upon seeing him, I wondered, “Why is she associating with him?
Following their collaboration on the satirical sitcom series “30 Rock,” broadcasted by NBC between 2006 and 2013, Baldwin developed a new perspective towards Jeff.

Jeff, the skilled composer and music supervisor from 30 Rock, possesses a laid-back and vibrant personality much like Tina’s is careful and witty.
Tina and Jeff became acquainted when they were both employed at The Second City comedy theater. After seven years together, they tied the knot in a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony.
They share two daughters together, Alice, 19, and Penelope, 13.
