As a cancer survivor myself, I couldn’t help but be moved to tears by Glen’s heart-wrenching story during the Stand Up To Cancer special episode of Gogglebox. Life can be so cruel, taking away the most precious things we hold dear in an instant. The thought of leaving my loved ones behind is unbearable, and hearing about Glen’s decision to be buried near his children’s school made me feel a knot in my heart.
During the special Stand Up To Cancer episode of Gogglebox, both Miriam Margoyles and Stephen Merchant found themselves moved to tears on Friday night.
All the celebrities felt deeply impacted upon viewing a distressing video about a man, who was a loving father of two, losing his life to cancer.
In a unique installment, famous personalities learned about Glen, a man of two children, who found out he had stage four cancer following a cycling mishap.
Glen shared that following his admission to the hospital, he underwent multiple examinations and imaging studies. During this process, medical professionals identified colon cancer that had started to affect his liver.
As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but share this heart-wrenching revelation: I’ve been told my cancer has metastasized, spreading throughout my bloodstream, potentially striking any part of my body at random. The prognosis is grim, as it’s now considered terminal.

The father also discussed the heart breaking moment he decided where he wanted to be buried.
He shared that they had discovered an ideal spot – a cemetery situated close to his kids’ school, allowing them to pay their respects whenever they wished, even during their daily walks home.
The show then revealed he had died at the age of 45.
Upon learning about Glen’s tale, sofas-bound stars like Miriam Margolyes and Kristen Scott-Thomas found themselves emotionally moved. Miriam quietly wept and wiped away her tears, while Kristen valiantly fought back the onset of tears.
Josh Widdicombe, alongside fellow comedian Stephen Merchant, referred to Glen’s tale as a “living nightmare” while visibly moved and on the verge of tears.
Some of the series’ recurring cast members expressed their feelings about Glen’s tale, emphasizing the significance of spending quality time with loved ones as one can never predict how much time is left.
David Badiel expressed: ‘Regardless of your capacity to part ways, it’s incredibly difficult for someone like him to bid farewell to such young children.’
While Frank Skinner agreed and added: ‘Leaving your kids behind is just the worst thing.’

Viewers were also moved and took to X to share their thoughts.
Typically, I find children’s videos to be overwhelming. However, Glenn’s story was heart-wrenchingly harsh; his entire life was taken away so swiftly. Using the word ‘cruel’ feels insufficient to describe it.
While another said: ‘That’s broke me, life is so cruel ‘
Others wrote: ‘ Oh god.. these videos always break me. Absolutely awfully sad.’
‘Literally sobbing at #CelebrityGogglebox.
It must be unbearably painful for that man, knowing he can’t spend time with his children. Such a heart-wrenching situation. #CelebrityGogglebox
