Who is in the cast of the BBC’s new thriller The Rapture? Where you’ve seen the actors before

The new psychological thriller, The Rapture, premieres tonight on BBC One after becoming available on BBC iPlayer this morning. The five-part series is expected to captivate audiences.

The series is based on Liz Jensen’s popular novel and was adapted for television by Bryony Kimmings and Rebecca Manley. It centers around a psychologist who begins working at a highly secure facility.

Ruth Madeley stars as Dr. Gabrielle ‘Gabs’ Fox, a child psychologist dealing with the aftermath of a car accident. The accident took her husband’s life and resulted in her paralysis.

Hoping for a fresh start, Gabs relocates to a Welsh coastal town and takes a job at Oxsmith Psychiatric Hospital. She’s put in charge of Bethany Krall, a seventeen-year-old who has been held at the hospital for two years after being found guilty of her mother’s violent murder.

The show focuses on a shocking crime that captured the country’s attention. What made it even more impactful was that the victim’s father, Leonard, leads a popular and uplifting religious group called Faith Way, which has millions of members.

The show hints that when Gabs reviews Bethany’s records, she discovers the last therapist didn’t write much about her.
