American Idol contestant who kissed Katy Perry is arrested for child pornography

A former participant on the television show “American Idol” who gained popularity when Katy Perry kissed him during his 2016 audition, was recently apprehended due to accusations of possessing child pornography.

According to TMZ, it was reported that 26-year-old Benjamin Glaze was taken into custody by the Tulsa Police Department’s Sexual Predator/Digital Evidence Recovery Unit on Friday afternoon, following a piece of information they received as a tip.

Glaze was booked at the city’s county jail and released on a $50,000 bond later that night.

Police reports indicate that a search warrant unveiled approximately 700 sexually explicit images and videos of minors on the suspect’s mobile gadget.

39-year-old Perry encountered criticism following the kiss with a 19-year-old named Benjamin, whom he stated during his audition had never previously been kissed.

Following the viral on-air smooch, Benjamin came to Katy’s defense in a lengthy social media post.

‘I do not think I was sexually harassed by Katy Perry,’ he wrote at the time.

He mentioned that he felt awkward because it was his first time being kissed and it took him by surprise.

The 143 music artist was also defended by her co-judge Luke Bryan shortly after the incident.

During his chat on The Morning Show with Larry Emdur, the country singer expressed regret over the media attention given to the situation, stating, “It’s sad how small incidents can blow up into such a large story. I even saw an interview where the child himself said he was okay with it all.

He remarked, “I fully support Katy’s viewpoint. As judges, we won’t always be correct and there will be times when we make mistakes.
